Renoveru Takes the Lead in Renovation Market
Renoveru Inc., a prominent renovation platform based in Minato, Tokyo, has announced its impressive achievement of ranking first in the issuance of certified renovation housing, known as ‘適合R住宅’ (R-compliant housing), in the 2025 annual report by the Renovation Council. This marks six consecutive years of leading the nation and metropolitan areas, with a total of 410 issued cases, securing the top spot among construction-oriented businesses. In the Kansai region, Renoveru has also claimed a notable second position.
As the supply of new condominium units declines and prices continue to rise, there is an increasing demand for pre-owned homes and renovations. With the growing prevalence of these options, ensuring a reliable market where consumers can confidently make selections becomes essential.
Since 2009, Renoveru has standardized the issuance of R1 housing—properties that meet quality standards specific to the exclusive sections of condominiums. By collaborating with the Renovation Council, Renoveru is dedicated to continuing its efforts in promoting reliable renovation housing, ensuring that consumers have trustworthy options to choose from.
Key Highlights of the Announcement
- - Six consecutive years in first place: top ranking nationally and in the metropolitan area, with second place in Kansai.
- - Out of the construction-based businesses, Renoveru achieved the highest number of R-compliant housing issued.
Understanding R-compliant and R1 Housing
The R-compliant housing standard, instituted by the Renovation Council, represents a unified standard of quality for high-quality renovations. Following an inspection, necessary renovations are carried out, and the records are preserved as part of the housing history information. Such information aids in maintenance and inspection practices, and proves beneficial when properties are sold in the future. Furthermore, these properties come with after-service guarantees to ensure peace of mind in the event of any issues.
R1 housing refers specifically to the high-quality standards set for exclusive sections of condominium properties, deemed compliant within the broad category of R-compliant housing. The standard encompasses inspection criteria across 13 critical infrastructure items, including water supply, drainage, gas piping, electrical wiring, and bathroom waterproofing, among others.
