Marelli Triumphs with Awards for Electric Racing Axle at 2025 Expo

Marelli Wins Big at the 2025 Professional MotorSport World Expo

In a spectacular display of innovation and engineering prowess, Marelli received two significant accolades at the 2025 Professional MotorSport World Expo in Cologne, Germany. This event, one of the premier international exhibitions in motorsport, took place on November 12 and 13 and served as a platform for showcasing groundbreaking technologies within the industry. Marelli's recognition was primarily for its new front axle specifically designed for electric racing vehicles, known as the Race E-volution 500.

As motorsport evolves towards electrification, Marelli’s Race E-volution 500 captured the spotlight in the 'Powertrain Technology of the Year' category with its ultra-compact design tailored for elite racing applications. The axle presents a powerful solution, achieving an impressive 350 kW output while maintaining a lightweight of just 57 kg and an efficient volume of 19 liters. This remarkable power-to-weight ratio positions the Race E-volution 500 as a formidable contender in current and future racing formats as championships head towards complete electrification.

Marelli’s innovative technology didn’t just stop at the front axle. The firm also previewed the High-Speed Camera 130, which boasts AI capabilities and is designed to enhance motorsport safety. This advanced camera can record up to 500 frames per second at 1 megapixel resolution, providing vital data for driver monitoring in varying lighting conditions.

In addition to these groundbreaking products, visitors at Marelli's booth (number 4068) were treated to a comprehensive overview of other technologies. Among these were ECUs, data loggers, telemetry devices like the Smart Antenna, and various automotive components including fuel pumps, ignition coils, and GDI injectors tailored for both two-wheel and four-wheel racing. Notably, Marelli showcased its award-winning VEC-480, named Innovation of the Year 2024, alongside its newly introduced VEC-200, a high-performance controller that emphasizes the integration of AI in modern automotive solutions.

These technological offerings affirm Marelli’s position as a key player in the global motorsport arena, consistently supplying leading teams and championships with innovative products that push the boundaries of performance and safety.
