TerraCycle Expands its Recycling Services with NLR Acquisition for Universal Waste Management

In a significant move that bolsters its recycling capabilities, TerraCycle Commercial, a division of the renowned recycling leader TerraCycle®, has acquired NLR Inc., a proponent of universal waste recycling based in Connecticut. This acquisition marks the latest addition to TerraCycle's expanding portfolio focused on regulated waste recycling operations.

TerraCycle Commercial specializes in aiding businesses in the compliant management of universal waste, which includes hazardous materials like mercury-containing fluorescent lamps, electronics, batteries, and other items needing specialized disposal methods. With the integration of NLR Inc., now the fourth addition to TerraCycle's commercial division stirring up the recycling landscape, the company aims to enhance its operational capabilities and collection reach across the Northeast United States.

NLR customers can expect continuity in service, maintaining engagement with familiar contacts while gaining access to a broader array of solutions from TerraCycle, including the notable Zero Waste Box™ designed for hard-to-recycle items and bulk recycling options. Customers can also benefit from the state-of-the-art facilities certified by the EPA under the Responsible Recycling Standard for Electronics Recyclers (R2), which rigorously processes various waste, ensuring compliance with both local and national regulations.

Robert E. Robert, Co-Founder of NLR, remarked, "Joining TerraCycle represents the right direction forward for our operations. Our core customer service mission is to provide an individualized and professional experience. As TerraCycle grows, that commitment to customer care continues, ensuring that while we expand, we retain our personalized touch. Our clients will still work with the dedicated team they know and trust, backed by TerraCycle’s formidable resources."

The acquisition also sees the retirement of Ray Graczyk, NLR’s Co-founder and a pivotal figure in shaping national recycling policies over three decades. His remarkable legacy within NLR will persist under Robert's management, as the East Windsor team continues its service seamlessly under the TerraCycle umbrella.

Tom Szaky, Founder and CEO of TerraCycle, highlighted the innovative potential of this acquisition, stating, "For far too long, universal and regulated waste management has been led by companies emphasizing compliance over innovation. NLR enriches our journey in this area, following our acquisition strategy that previously included leaders like Air Cycle Corporation, Complete Recycling Solutions, and North Coast Services. Together, we are improving our service capabilities across the Northeast."

The funding for this acquisition stemmed significantly from TerraCycle's completed Regulation CF offering, aligning with their ambition to augment the TerraCycle Commercial division and its capacity to manage regulated waste better.

TerraCycle's vision transcends mere recycling; it encompasses a holistic approach toward waste management. The company is dedicated to establishing comprehensive solutions throughout all waste stages—from consumer-oriented recycling programs to corporate sustainability initiatives. Their systematic approach seeks to reimagine waste handling and recycling practices, collectively working toward their mission of Eliminating the Idea of Waste®.

As TerraCycle continues to enhance its operations, it invites investors to explore its Regulation A Offering and participate in the journey toward a sustainable economy. Interested parties can find comprehensive details through their investment portal.
