Trinasolar and Universidad Politécnica de Madrid Open New Solar Demo Center to Enhance Research and Collaboration

A Groundbreaking Partnership in Renewable Energy

In a significant stride toward advancing solar energy research, Trinasolar, a global leader in smart solar solutions, has officially inaugurated a new Demo Center in collaboration with the Instituto de Energía Solar at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. This newly launched facility serves as a hub for innovation, knowledge exchange, and practical learning in the realm of solar energy, cementing the strategic partnership that began in early 2024.

Significance of the Demo Center

The Demo Center does not merely function as a technological showcase; it embodies a comprehensive commitment to collaboration within the renewable energy sector. Designed as a versatile space, the center is equipped to serve as a real-world testbed for cutting-edge solar technologies while also offering a platform for joint research and development (R&D), training, and open innovation. Gonzalo de la Viña, President of Trinasolar Europe, articulated, "This Demo Center represents a bridge between innovation and collaboration. It offers us the chance to showcase our latest technologies while strengthening our relationships with key European partners."

The inauguration ceremony, conducted on June 18th, gathered various stakeholders, including industry representatives, academic experts, and renewable energy advocates. The presence of these diverse entities reinforces Trinasolar's commitment to fostering a global energy transition through local partnerships.

Technological Showcase and Opportunities

Visitors to the Demo Center will have the opportunity to examine not only the innovative Vertex N series photovoltaic modules developed by Trinasolar but also a complete range of solar mounting solutions. These include the Vanguard 1P and 2P trackers, as well as the FixOrigin fixed-tilt structure, all designed to optimize energy production and efficiency.

Ignacio Antón Hernandez, Director at the Instituto Solar, emphasized the center's role in enriching the educational environment for students and researchers. He noted, "Access to such advanced technologies on campus opens up great opportunities for our students, researchers, and collaborative projects. It’s a living lab, and a space for connection with industry."

Global Expansion of Trinasolar's Vision

In addition to the Madrid Demo Center, Trinasolar's commitment to innovation and education is evident in its recent efforts to establish another center in São Paulo, Brazil, in partnership with Facens University. These endeavors are part of Trinasolar's growing global network of collaborations with academic institutions aimed at nurturing talent development and fostering innovative research in solar energy around the world. The institute aims to promote sustainable practices and harness alternative energy sources to combat climate change, showcasing the company’s ambition to play a pivotal role in the solar energy industry.

By inaugurating the Demo Center in Madrid, Trinasolar not only strengthens its ties with the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid but also exemplifies its broader strategy of supporting the global renewable energy transition through local initiatives and partnerships. With a commitment to innovation, quality, and education, this partnership sets a precedent for how academic and corporate collaborators can work together to address the pressing challenges of our time, specifically in renewable energy adoption and climate action.
