Pacsun Launches Official College Tour to Empower Gen Z Through Co-Creation

Pacsun Official College Tour: Engaging a New Generation

Pacsun, a fashion retailer rooted in youth culture, has taken a significant step by launching an official college tour aimed at empowering the voices of Gen Z. The initiative reflects not only the brand's commitment to engaging with younger generations but also underscores the transformational role they play in shaping fashion and culture.

A New Chapter in Pacsun's Evolution

The tour is inspired by the debut book, Co-Created: The Cultural Strategy That Redefined Pacsun, authored by CEO Brieane Olson. This publication encapsulates Pacsun's journey from a traditional retailer to a brand that prioritizes co-creation with its community—especially the Gen Z demographic. It emphasizes the importance of listening to young people's perspectives and incorporating their ideas into the brand's strategy.

Kickoff at USC

The tour officially commenced on October 6, 2026, at the University of Southern California, where Olson introduced her book and engaged with students. The goal is clear: inspire young individuals to recognize their power and the potential they hold to shape the future of both business and culture.

Over the next year, Olson plans to visit at least 12 campuses, including prestigious institutions such as Harvard Business School, Stanford University, Duke University, and UC Irvine. Each stop will offer an opportunity for dialogue, allowing Pacsun to gather insights directly from students about their aspirations and visions.

Fostering a Two-Way Dialogue

Pacsun has always been about more than just fashion. Through various initiatives, such as its Youth Council and ambassador program, the brand encourages ongoing communication with its young consumer base. This college tour extends those efforts into new environments, fostering discussions about community, purpose, leadership, and how younger generations can influence business and culture.

Olson reflects on the importance of these discussions: "The conversations I've had with students this year have been particularly meaningful. I want young people to understand the impact their voices can have and to trust their own ideas. The college tour gives us a platform for continued learning while sharing valuable lessons from our journey."

Academic Collaboration

Interestingly, Pacsun's approach has drawn academic interest as well. Harvard Business School has developed a case study titled Pacsun Co-Creating a Purposeful Take on Retail under the guidance of Professor Cynthia Montgomery. This case study delves into Pacsun's evolution and its innovative strategy of centering young consumers in business decisions.

Inspiring the Next Generation

Released in May, Co-Created chronicles the company's transformative journey. It highlights how community engagement and youth voices have become integral to Pacsun's product offerings, marketing strategies, and overall business direction. The college tour aims to facilitate further dialogue around these essential themes while motivating the next generation to recognize their potential impact.

As Pacsun continues to expand its reach and influence, the official college tour stands out as a testament to the company's commitment to co-creation and youth empowerment. Students across the nation can anticipate a unique opportunity to engage with a brand that actively seeks their input and values their voices.
