JFE Shoji Electronics and traevo Collaborate for Enhanced Logistics Tracking

JFE Shoji Electronics Partners with traevo for Logistics Innovation

JFE Shoji Electronics, based in Chiyoda, Tokyo, has announced its collaboration with traevo, a company located in Minato, Tokyo. This partnership aims to integrate JFE’s logistics tracking service, Jiot, with traevo’s vehicle dynamics management platform, traevo Platform, starting from November 6, 2025. The integration will facilitate centralized visualization of vehicle operation status, temperature, and location data collected by Jiot, regardless of the type of onboard device utilized, including communication-based, non-communication-based, and analog tachographs. This collaboration is set to enhance efficiency and precision in logistics information management across the entire supply chain, involving multiple stakeholders including freight owners, primary contractors, and collaborating transportation companies.

Background and Objectives

The logistics industry is moving towards improved visibility and productivity, especially following recent regulatory changes such as the “New Logistics Laws.” The focus is on managing working hours and reducing loading and unloading times effectively. By combining JFE Shoji Electronics' expertise in sensing technology with traevo’s platform for vehicle dynamics data, this partnership aims to provide a dual advantage of securing transport quality and improving operational efficiency.

Overview of the Collaboration

Vehicles equipped with non-communication digital tachographs or analog tachographs will have a dedicated Jiot GPS tracker installed. This GPS tracker automatically links the acquired position and temperature data to the traevo Platform. This allows for the integrated management of operational statuses across all vehicles, regardless of existing onboard device environments. Moreover, real-time insight into waiting times and loading/unloading operation records will be accessible, thereby enhancing the quality of transportation through better temperature management during transit. This collaboration not only makes the logistics operations transparent but also facilitates better information sharing with freight owners, contributing to enhanced productivity across the supply chain.

About the Jiot Logistics Tracking Service

Jiot is designed with the concept of ensuring simple and secure digitalization of logistics. It boasts three major characteristics validated through proof-of-concept trials:
1. Ease of Implementation
Jiot utilizes a compact GPS tracker (4.9cm x 4.9cm, 39g) that requires no installation. It prioritizes usability on-site with features such as USB Type-C charging and also offers a powerful magnet battery replacement (12.6cm x 12.5cm, 463g).

2. No User Operation Required
The GPS tracker can simply be carried and placed without any need for driver intervention, allowing for automatic notifications upon entering areas and automatic measurement of waiting and loading times.

3. Simultaneous Measurement of Position and Temperature
This integrated device automatically records both the position and temperature data. Transitioning from manual to digital management means compliance with hygiene laws requiring temperature records for fresh foods is now feasible.

Jiot is currently in the process of trademark registration.

About the Traevo Platform

traevo Platform aggregates and manages dynamic data such as position, operations, waiting times, and loading activities from various onboard devices, including communication-based digital tachographs and drive recorders. This platform enables information sharing among multiple stakeholders, including freight owners, carriers, and delivery recipients, thereby supporting overall logistics efficiency through cross-industry data integration.
Additionally, it addresses the new logistics law requirements for reducing waiting and loading times by leveraging information on idle time gathered from digital tachographs and GPS systems, driving digital transformation on-site while minimizing capital investment.

Comments from Both Companies

Takaaki Yanagisawa, President of JFE Shoji Electronics, stated, “The collaboration between Jiot and the traevo Platform marks a significant advancement in data utilization for logistics operations. We aim to extend the benefits of digitization to areas that have previously been challenging to visualize, striving for enhanced efficiency and the assurance of safe transportation in the industry.”

Hisafumi Suzuki, President of traevo, added, “This collaboration represents a major step in connecting logistics information across different onboard devices and systems. We are committed to supporting the optimization and sustainable growth of the supply chain through co-creation with partner companies like JFE Shoji Electronics.”
