Advent Expands International Presence with New Abu Dhabi Office

Advent International, a leading global private equity investor, has officially opened a new office located at the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM). This strategic move marks a significant expansion of Advent's international footprint, allowing the company to establish a more robust presence in the Middle East.

The decision to open an office in Abu Dhabi is a natural progression for Advent, which has long-standing relationships in the region. The new location will facilitate deeper engagement with investors, support existing portfolio companies, and explore new investment opportunities. James Brocklebank, Advent’s Managing Partner and Co-Chairman of the Global Executive Committee, emphasized that having local colleagues enhances their connection with long-term partners and institutions. He stated, "Abu Dhabi fits naturally into our global network alongside our recent expansions to Sydney and Tokyo. Being close to our partners allows us to strengthen these critical relationships over time."

Mehdi Iraqi, who has recently joined Advent as Managing Director of Limited Partner Services, will lead the Abu Dhabi office. Having nearly two decades of experience in institutional investor relations, Mehdi has worked with prominent firms like AMG and Carlyle. He expressed enthusiasm about the new office, saying, "The Middle East is home to some of Advent's most valued long-term partners, and this office reflects our commitment to being close to them. I look forward to reinforcing these relationships from Abu Dhabi."

Arvind Ramamurthy, Director of Market Development at ADGM, welcomed Advent to the community, highlighting the strength of Abu Dhabi as a premier destination for global investment firms. He noted, "Advent's decision to establish a presence at ADGM signifies not only the attractiveness of our ecosystem but also our commitment to supporting firms as they grow and deepen their engagement with partners and opportunities across the region."

Advent’s new Abu Dhabi office follows a series of recent expansions. Earlier in 2024, the firm opened an office in Sydney, extending its reach in Australia and New Zealand, followed by the opening of a Tokyo office in January 2026, thereby enhancing its Japanese operations. Additionally, Advent has solidified its long-standing presence in Hong Kong as a regional hub for investor engagement in Asia-Pacific.

As it stands, Advent now has 18 offices across 15 countries, reinforcing its commitment to operate in the world’s most dynamic markets. This expansion strategy not only underscores Advent's growth ambitions but also its dedication to building sustainable, long-term relationships with partners worldwide. The firm’s increasing presence in these key locations reflects a confident outlook on investment opportunities in the region and beyond, symbolizing Advent's readiness to tackle upcoming challenges and embrace the evolving landscape of global investments.

With this significant move to Abu Dhabi, Advent continues to showcase its leadership in the private equity sector by remaining agile and strategically well-positioned to leverage new market trends. Investors can expect enhanced services and increased accessibility as the firm deepens its involvement in the Middle Eastern investment community. Advent is poised to make a lasting impact on the market, further solidifying its status as a leading global investor in the private equity realm.
