Dan Barnett to Lead Students 2 Science Towards New Horizons as Executive Director

Students 2 Science Welcomes Dan Barnett as Executive Director

On August 3, 2026, Students 2 Science (S2S) officially announced the appointment of Dan Barnett as their new Executive Director, beginning September 1, 2026. Barnett takes over from co-founder and President Dr. Paul A. Winslow, who has decided to step down after 17 years of impactful leadership. Winslow will stay connected with the organization by joining the S2S Board of Trustees, thereby continuing to offer his strategic guidance for S2S's future.

Barnett, previously serving as S2S's Chief Development Officer for five years, played a key role in achieving numerous organizational milestones. His leadership was vital in successfully launching the Career Advancement Program and significantly expanding outreach efforts, not to mention overseeing the opening of the new Apollo Technology Center located in Whippany, New Jersey.

The Board of Trustees expressed their unanimous confidence in Barnett, remarking that his deep dedication to the organization and his strong relationships with partners and supporters would help propel S2S into its next chapter. Karnel Walker, Chair of the Board, stated, "Dan brings a clear understanding of our programs, people, and growth opportunities. His appointment promises both continuity and innovation that will augment S2S's impact on students and communities."

As he steps into his new role, Barnett will collaborate closely with the Board to further enhance S2S programs and ensure their long-term sustainability. Dr. Winslow expressed pride in the accomplishments of S2S during his tenure and voiced his assurance in the operational team's capability to guide the organization’s mission forward. He emphasized that every student in New Jersey should have the opportunity to pursue fulfilling careers in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) fields.

To celebrate Dr. Winslow's remarkable 17 years of service, S2S plans to host a reception on Friday, September 25, 2026, from 5:30 to 7:30 PM at the Apollo Technology Center, with further registration details to be announced soon.
