New Sustainable Footwear and Bags from ECOALF
On April 22, coinciding with Earth Day, ECOALF, the sustainable fashion brand managed by Sanyo Shokai, will release new models of sneakers and bags crafted from recycled PET bottles recovered from ocean waste. Expanding their popular UTO Collection, this drop includes three sneaker styles and five bag designs designed with a focus on sustainability and style.
The UTO Collection and UPCYCLING THE OCEANS
ECOALF’s commitment to environmental conservation is prominently displayed through their "UPCYCLING THE OCEANS" initiative, which was launched in 2015. This project collaborates with local fishermen to gather, sort, and upcycle ocean plastic waste, transforming it into the brand’s proprietary Ocean Yarn. This innovative yarn is used to create new sustainable products, including the latest sneaker and bag designs slated for release.
Since its inception, UPCYCLING THE OCEANS has seen significant expansion, tapping into resources worldwide. As of 2024, through partnerships with over 4,000 fishermen across 74 ports globally, the project has successfully recovered approximately 1,700 tons of ocean waste. This achievement showcases ECOALF’s dedication to sustainable practices and their mission to combat ocean pollution through innovative recycling methods.
