CD Energy Launches Summer Campaign to Cool Down Utility Bills in 2025

CD Energy's Summer Campaign: Beat the Heat with Savings

As the summer of 2025 approaches, CD Energy is excited to unveil its latest initiative, "Let's Cool Down This Summer! Campaign." Starting from July 1 through July 31, 2025, the company aims to provide relief to its customers during what is expected to be a scorching summer.

The purpose of this campaign is to support customers in maintaining a comfortable home environment while providing economical electric services. Given the predictions from the Japan Meteorological Agency, this summer is anticipated to exceed average temperature levels across the nation, potentially leading to surging electricity demand and rising electric fares. Notably, air conditioning usage significantly impacts household power consumption, accounting for approximately 38.3% of electricity used around 7 PM in the summer months, as reported by the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy.

Reflecting on these forecasted challenges, the government has announced financial support for electricity and gas pricing for usage from July through September 2025, easing the burden of increased energy costs. This support will coincide with the utility's campaign to further help customers save on their bills.

Campaign Overview

During the promotional period, any customer who applies for a new electricity rate plan through the official CD Energy website will receive 3,000 yen in Kateene Points, which can be used towards their electricity bill.

Campaign Period:

  • - Start: July 1, 2025
  • - End: July 31, 2025

Eligibility Criteria:

  • - Applicants must sign up for the qualifying electric plan through the official website.
  • - Electricity supply must commence by August 31, 2025.
  • - Customers must register on the “Kateene” member site within one month of the supply start date.

More details about campaign conditions can be found on the official website.

Ongoing Savings Beyond the Campaign

Wondering if the rates will remain advantageous after signing up? CD Energy offers a variety of affordable plans tailored to different stages of life. In a survey conducted in August 2024, around 80% of customers expressed satisfaction with their rates.

Alongside competitive prices, the utility has an enriching points system. By registering with CD Energy’s online service, Kateene, customers can earn points on their monthly payments and gain bonuses during their birthday, alongside other promotions. Points can be redeemed at a rate of 1 point for 1 yen towards electricity payments or exchanged for points in collaboration with other partner programs.

Free Annual Plan Optimization

Understanding the ongoing concerns related to billing, CD Energy introduced the "Optimal Plan Regular Service", offering bi-annual reviews of customer plans based on usage data. This service informs customers of more beneficial options within their existing plans, enhancing their overall satisfaction and comfort with the service.

Eligible customers will receive pertinent information through email, allowing them to switch plans easily through a dedicated site if a more favorable option exists.

Checking Your Savings

For customers curious about potential savings on electricity and gas bills, CD Energy provides a user-friendly price simulation tool to estimate costs conveniently. This innovative feature allows customers to assess various plans and identify potential discounts.
