Huawei Launches Intelligent RAIL 2.0 to Accelerate Global Railway Infrastructure Modernization
Huawei Launches Intelligent RAIL 2.0
During the InnoTrans 2026, the largest global railway trade fair held from September 22 to 25, Huawei introduced its Intelligent RAIL 2.0 solution. This new generation of technology is tailored to provide intelligent options for a variety of scenarios within the global railway industry, addressing the industry's evolving needs and challenges.
Notable attendance included organizations such as the International Union of Railways (UIC) and the International Association of Public Transport (UITP), alongside global customers and ecosystem partners who gathered to explore the future of railway transportation.
Raymond Zuo, President of Huawei's Smart Rail Business Unit, emphasized the urgency of integrating digital and intelligent technologies into business processes as the world enters a new era of intelligence. As the industry progresses from the GSM-R communication system to the more advanced FRMCS, there is a transition towards state-based maintenance and predictive analytics for equipment.
Moreover, logistics for freight operations are shifting towards a service-oriented model, incorporating multimodal transport, while passenger services are evolving to ensure seamless travel experiences. Digital technologies will increasingly be woven into the fabric of engineering and construction to bolster safety and operational efficiency.
Huawei's innovative strategy for Intelligent RAIL leverages digital technologies aimed at enhancing reliability, automating processes, integrating services, and ensuring sustainable development. At the event, Huawei presented a portfolio of 20 solutions within the Intelligent RAIL 2.0 framework, each focusing on critical areas such as construction, passenger and freight transportation, and equipment maintenance. These solutions address longstanding challenges faced by the railway industry, with Huawei collaborating with partners to deliver modular and scalable offerings based on specific business scenarios.
Currently, Huawei serves over 50 major railway clients worldwide and oversees more than 300 urban transit lines that encompass over 180,000 kilometers of track. Beyond being a leading global ICT provider, Huawei continues to be a trusted partner in the digital transformation journey as industries adapt to intelligent technologies.
Looking ahead, the company aims to reinforce its
