Gestalt's PathFlow Shines at 2025 DICOM WG-26 Connectathon



On July 9, 2025, in Spokane, Washington, Gestalt, a front-runner in AI-driven digital pathology solutions, revealed its advanced platform, PathFlow, at the 2025 DICOM WG-26 Interoperability Connectathon. This event underscored its readiness for practical clinical integration across various vendor systems. Co-sponsored by the Digital Pathology Association and the European Society of Digital and Integrative Pathology, the Connectathon affirmed the essential role of interoperability in modern medical diagnostics.

Spanning from January to June, the event concluded at the European Congress on Digital Pathology in Barcelona, bringing together over 30 organizations to collectively validate workflows using DICOM standards. Areas of focus included crucial aspects such as image acquisition, storage, viewing, and AI-driven annotations, all essential components for enhancing diagnostic accuracy and efficiency.

Gestalt's PathFlow emerged as a standout performer, especially in the Image Display category. Notably, the platform successfully showcased images from 8 out of 9 WSI scanners. With seamless integration across various systems like 3DHISTECH, Grundium, Leica, Hamamatsu, and Pramana, PathFlow ensures that pathologists can quickly access high-quality images, optimizing their diagnostic workflows. This interoperability means that regardless of where an image originates, pathologists can work more efficiently, paving the way for faster and more reliable diagnoses.

Moreover, PathFlow excelled in displaying annotations from five different AI Evidence Creators, including industry dignitaries such as Visiopharm, Hologic, TechCyte, and identify.bio. This capability not only underscores PathFlow's adaptability, but also allows for structured data presentations that bolster diagnostic insights.

Demonstrating its prowess as an Evidence Creator itself, Gestalt's integration involved analyzing and annotating images from eight scanners. The resultant annotations were successfully transmitted to five distinct image management archives via standard DICOM Web protocols. Such capacity positions Gestalt at the forefront of AI application in pathology, facilitating a smoother integration of advanced technologies into routine clinical practices.
