DEXA's FAA Certification Marks a New Era in Drone Delivery Innovations
DEXA Bridges New Frontiers in Drone Delivery
In a groundbreaking advancement for the drone delivery sector, DEXA (Drone Express) has achieved its FAA Part 135 Air Carrier Certification and has secured a spot on the Secretary of Transportation's S-1 List with its DE-2020 drone. This pivotal moment places DEXA alongside industry giants like Amazon Prime Air, Google Wing, and Zipline, marking the company as a frontrunner in safe and scalable drone delivery operations across the nation.
A Major Milestone
The FAA Part 135 certification authorizes DEXA to conduct Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) operations for compensation. This approval is crucial for the company, unlocking the potential for large-scale, commercial drone deliveries, transforming how goods reach consumers. Furthermore, being included in the S-1 List affirms the airworthiness and reliability of its DE-2020 drone, emphasizing DEXA's capabilities as a certified manufacturer of small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS).
As Beth Flippo, DEXA's CEO, remarked, "This is a momentous achievement for DEXA. Our small team’s innovation and dedication have propelled us to achieve the same certifications as some of the largest corporations in the world. This journey began with the IPP and BEYOND programs, and we are excited to continue towards full Type Certification. Working with the FAA has been a remarkable experience, and we deeply appreciate their collaboration in redefining the future of autonomous delivery."
Professionals in the industry have echoed similar sentiments. Russell Kline, Chief Regulatory Officer at DEXA, emphasized the significance of the S-1 List. He stated, "As the manufacturer of a certified and airworthy sUAS, we can now scale our delivery operations nationwide more effectively, reducing reliance on third-party aircraft. This advancement represents a powerful step in leading the drone delivery revolution."
Preparations for Nationwide Expansion
With both the FAA certifications now secured, DEXA is poised to expedite its mission of delivering essentials to communities within fifteen minutes. Utilizing its DEXA NOW app, the company promises fast and dependable access to groceries, convenience items, and more, while offering a novel alternative to traditional delivery methods.
The DE-2020 hexacopter exemplifies cutting-edge technology, as it integrates advanced autonomous flight systems with stringent safety protocols. Designed and manufactured entirely in the U.S., this proprietary drone is engineered to meet the real-world demands of delivery operations while also supporting sustainability initiatives aimed at minimizing carbon emissions and alleviating road congestion.
"Revolutionizing delivery has always been our goal," Flippo added. "With our recent Part 135 certification and inclusion on the S-1 List, we are ready to scale our operations, partner with new retailers, and transform drone delivery into a daily convenience for consumers across the country."
