Pittsburgh, PA – November 25, 2025 – DICK'S Sporting Goods has announced that it will appoint Matthew Barnes as the President of Foot Locker International, with the appointment set to take effect on December 3, 2025. Barnes will spearhead the international operations of the Foot Locker brand, focusing on strategic growth and revitalizing the business on a global scale.
Having recently acquired Foot Locker in September 2025, DICK'S is poised to leverage Barnes's extensive experience to enhance Foot Locker's presence across various markets, including Europe, Asia, and Australia. He will oversee both physical stores and digital platforms, reporting directly to Ed Stack, the Executive Chairman of DICK'S Sporting Goods, who is also overseeing the Foot Locker operations.

Barnes brings nearly three decades of retail experience, having worked across various regions, including the UK, Europe, the U.S., and Australia. His career path includes significant roles at Aldi, where he served as the Group CEO and was a member of the International Executive Board of Aldi Süd. Additionally, he held the title of Chief Executive Officer at Tesco in the UK, further solidifying his capabilities as a leader in the retail space.
