Background

With Japanese companies accelerating their international presence, the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) reports that 46.7% of those with overseas operations plan to expand further in the next three years. Concurrently, 45.3% of companies without international branches are eager to explore foreign markets, marking an increase. This highlights the critical need for a strategic pivot towards global operations, especially given Japan's declining domestic population. However, the growth in talent acquisition for overseas business has not kept pace, with 85.2% of companies indicating a deficit in global talent. The gap presents a significant hurdle that many Japanese firms face today.
