KAI Industries Joins Forces with Sweets Koshien
KAI Industries, a prominent global knife manufacturer based in Chiyoda, Tokyo, has announced its special sponsorship of the 18th Sweets Koshien, a contest aimed at discovering Japan's top high school pastry chefs. Organized by Sankei Shimbun, this year's competition challenges culinary students to showcase their creativity through unique wedding cake designs. Participants are invited to submit their original recipe ideas, with the deadline set for June 10 (Tuesday). The collaboration between Sweets Koshien and KAI Industries continues to support and inspire the passionate youth in the world of confectionery.
Overview of the KAI Award
Among the teams advancing to the finals, one team that demonstrates proper and careful use of tools will receive the KAI Award. The winning team will be granted the opportunity to collaborate with KAI Industries to develop an original recipe, which will be featured at the 'KITCHEN STAGE' located in the basement of the famous Isetan Shinjuku store.

Sweets Koshien Event Details
The 18th Sweets Koshien aims to elevate young chefs by providing them with a platform to showcase their skills. Last year's winner, the team 'arc-en-ciel' from Iizuka High School in Fukuoka Prefecture, captured the essence of maternal love in their cake ‘chouette’. The design featured strawberries and oranges, symbolizing warmth, and was adorned with a bouquet of sunflowers, gerberas, and tulips to honor their mothers.
