Spring Special Exhibition: Slime LAB 2
This spring, families in Tokyo have a fantastic opportunity to participate in a hands-on scientific adventure at IMAGINUS. Running from March 27 to April 5, and again from April 29 to May 6, the
Slime LAB 2 exhibition promises an engaging blend of play and experimentation that both children and parents can enjoy together.
IMAGINUS, located in the former Suginami Fourth Elementary School, serves as a vibrant science lab where curious minds can explore the wonderful world of slime. Following the success of last year’s exhibition, this year’s event elevates the experience by enabling visitors not just to make slime, but to deeply investigate its properties and behaviors.
What Awaits You at Slime LAB 2?
Play and Learn with Slime
The exhibition features four interactive zones, providing a variety of activities for attendees:
1.
Creation Zone: Here, you can mix various ingredients to develop your unique slime. Once your creation is ready, take it home in a charming container. You’ll have the chance to experiment with different combinations, such as:
- Normal slime mixed with luminous powder to create glowing slime.
- Normal slime with glitter for a sparkly treat.
- Limited-time offerings like fluffy slime when paired with water-absorbing polymers.
2.
Experiment Zone: This area allows visitors to see how their slime interacts with different elements. For example, test how much electricity your slime can generate or engage in fascinating chemical reactions using citric acid or silica gel, available during the specific exhibition phases.
3.
Investigation Zone: Dive deep into the textures and characteristics of slime by feeling different varieties. This hands-on approach makes learning about the science behind slime engaging and entertaining.
4.
Explanation Zone: Ever wondered what slime really is? This segment will provide insights into the science of gels which are a mix of liquid and solid states, explaining the various uses of gels and unique ways to create different types of slime.
Culinary Adventures
Don’t miss the 4th Place Café on the 3rd floor where delicious, themed dishes await. During the exhibition, indulge in the
Gel-Gel Smile Parfait, offering a delightful, wobbly texture that kids will love.
