As new generations take over the old communal roles of the fire brigade and youth groups, the narrative unfolds around what remains, what has left, and what has come to rest in this cherished town. The annual festival arrives, ideally a time of pride and celebration for the locals; however, an unexpected event disrupts their plans.
Driven by the desire to protect their beloved memories and loved ones, the townsfolk rally together to resurrect the spirit of their cherished festival, determined to hoist the sacred mikoshi (portable shrine) once more.
