Jean Jullien's 'PURPLE PONY' Exhibition to Showcase Unique Art in Shibuya, Japan

Jean Jullien's 'PURPLE PONY' Exhibition in Shibuya

French artist Jean Jullien, known for his eclectic blend of illustration, painting, sculpture, and installations, is set to unveil his latest exhibition titled 'PURPLE PONY' at the PARCO MUSEUM TOKYO in Shibuya. The event will run from November 14 to December 1, 2025, marking the second exhibition in Tokyo in four years for the artist.

A Whimsical Exploration

This new exhibit promises to blur the boundaries between reality and fiction, inviting the audience into Jullien's unique creative process. Through 19 new pieces, the artist reflects on the everyday life in Japan, showcasing what he has observed, felt, and cherished. The exhibit's focus is on how fiction can serve as a comforting glance at one’s surroundings rather than a mere escape from reality. In a society where fiction is often constrained to media narratives, Jullien invites viewers to lovingly embrace the beauty of the ordinary world.

Tokyo serves as the perfect backdrop for this exploration as it intertwines the realms of imagination and daily life. In Jullien's perspective, the city becomes alive with reflections of fiction, merging seamlessly with the streets and the people within it, creating an experience that feels almost dreamlike.

Exhibition Highlights

During the exhibition, visitors can also purchase a range of merchandise inspired by the exhibit, including commemorative items featuring the event's key visuals. Notably, there will also be exclusive products available from NANZUKA ART INSTITUTE in Shanghai, alongside goods from NOUNOU, Jullien's creative label founded in Korea.

As a special highlight, a signing event with Jean Jullien is scheduled for November 21, 2025, where attendees who purchase over 1,000 yen worth of goods will have the chance to meet the artist.
