Systemair Introduces Innovative Ventilation Solutions for Future-Ready Swimming Facilities in Malmö

Systemair's Cutting-Edge Solutions for Swimming Facilities

In a significant move towards sustainable aquatic centers, Systemair (NASDAQ Stockholm: SYSR) has been appointed to provide state-of-the-art ventilation and dehumidification systems for the new Heleneholm swimming facility in Malmö, Sweden. Partnering with the City of Malmö, NCC, and Assemblin Ventilation AB, this project is a keystone for modern swimming facilities.

As part of a comprehensive turnkey solution, Systemair will supply both dry and wet air-handling units, crafted through collaborative efforts with the customer. The project also incorporates advanced swimming facility technologies from Menerga, a prominent member of the Systemair Group.

Advanced Technology at the Core

At the heart of this installation lie Menerga’s innovative dehumidification units, featuring integrated heat pumps that utilize the eco-friendly refrigerant CO₂ (R744). Removing reliance on harmful substances, this technology is entirely PFAS-free. It aims for exceptional heat recovery efficiency, enhancing the heating and energy systems of pool water, airflow, and the building itself.

Kent Granberg, Managing Director of Menerga Sweden, emphasizes, "Our CO₂-based technology delivers a future-ready solution combining outstanding energy efficiency with a natural refrigerant – a vital advancement for sustainable swimming facilities."

Currently, Systemair is the sole company in Europe to offer this type of CO₂-based technology specifically for swimming pools, with the Heleneholm installation being the second instance in Sweden, highlighting Systemair’s pioneering role in this area.

Comprehensive Responsibility from Design to Implementation

Marcus Sandlund, Managing Director of Systemair Sweden, notes, "Through the expertise within our Group, we can provide a cohesive and future-proof strategy for intricate swimming facility projects. For our clients, this translates to having a dependable partner overseeing every aspect, from initial design through to final installation and optimized operational phases."

Scheduled for delivery throughout 2026-2027, the solution will ensure integration with the management systems of the building and will also come with a five-year warranty aligned with a service agreement. This plan positions Heleneholmsbadet not only as a project but as a benchmark for future energy-efficient and sustainable swimming environments.

Systemair’s Commitment to Global Standards

Established in 1974, Systemair has firmly established itself as a leading provider of ventilation technology dedicated to improving indoor climates through energy-efficient products. The Group operates across 51 nations including major markets in Europe, North America, and Asia, promoting brands such as Systemair, Frico, Fantech, and Menerga. In the 2025/26 financial year, the organization reported about 7,400 employees and sales of SEK 12.5 billion, maintaining an operating profit consistently over the decades and averaging a 7.7% growth over the last ten years.

In conclusion, Systemair’s delivery of pioneering ventilation solutions for Malmö's Heleneholm swimming facility not only sets a benchmark for future aquatic centers but also reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and energy efficiency. As more facilities look to adapt to greener technologies, Systemair stands at the forefront leading this vital transition.
