Triton Uranium Begins Ambitious Drill Program at Cinch Mine



Triton Uranium Corp., a key player in mineral exploration, is making headlines by commencing its 2026 drill program at the renowned Atlas Project near Uranium City, Saskatchewan. This initiative is set to enhance the evaluation and expansion of existing uranium deposits, primarily focusing on the historic Cinch Mine, where extensive mineralization has been previously recorded. The company has initiated the drilling with two diamond drill holes, each extending 350 meters, to explore the existing uranium extensions identified in the region.

Scott Evans, the President of Triton Uranium, expressed enthusiasm about this project's potential: "We are pleased with the progress at the Atlas Project. Our objective is to systematically evaluate and expand these historic uranium deposits while advancing the project toward compliant mineral resources. This will further Triton's position in one of Saskatchewan's significant uranium districts."

The Cinch Mine is not solely known for uranium; it also contains mineralization of copper, titanium, ruthenium, and graphite. In order to gain a comprehensive understanding of these elements, a thorough ICP multi-element assay program will be undertaken on all drill cores. This approach is pivotal to defining the complete suite of elements within the Cinch Mine ore body, potentially revealing further resource opportunities as the drilling progresses.

Situated along the Cracking Stone River Fault, the Cinch Mine has a rich history as an underground spiral decline operation, with a structure that features six levels reaching depths of approximately 334 meters. To date, a remarkable 562 historic holes have been drilled in both the Cinch and Cenex Mines area, contributing valuable data to the ongoing exploration efforts. The uranium mineralization is typically located in pitchblende-rich zones, which are aligned in a parallel fashion along the fault structure, indicating a promising roadmap for further resource delineation through continued drilling efforts.

This initial drilling phase represents just the beginning of Triton's larger 10,000-meter exploration program. As drilling at the Cinch Mine progresses, attention will shift toward multiple low-grade open-pit priority exploration targets. These include Zones 11, 21, and 31, along with the Red Rock Zone, the Donaldson Lake Zone, and the National Exploration Mine. The results obtained from this extensive drilling initiative will play a critical role in updating the historic resources to adhere to modern reporting standards in line with NI 43-101 and SK-1300.

In terms of historical context, the Cinch Mine's resources are estimated to contain around 1,791,967 pounds of U3O8, grading at 0.283% U3O8, and located within 316,700 metric tonnes of mineralized material. When combined with past production figures, the Cinch and Cenex mines generate a significant legacy, boasting a total production of 1,215,943 pounds of U3O8 from 216,711 metric tonnes that graded 0.2655% U3O8.

The broader context of Uranium City Mining Camp enhances the significance of these efforts, as it has historically yielded more than 77 million pounds of U3O8, marking it as one of the most significant uranium-producing districts in Canada.

Triton Uranium currently oversees more than 46,000 acres of strategically located mineral dispositions throughout the district. Notably, the company has recently completed a major airborne exploration program that incorporated radiometric, magnetic, LiDAR, and hyperspectral surveys. This extensive dataset is now being integrated to refine and prioritize Triton's large-scale exploration model aimed at identifying near-surface, low-grade bulk-tonnage mining opportunities.

The interpretation of the radiometric survey has revealed approximately 11.5 kilometers of prospective strike length, supporting Triton's open-pit uranium exploration model and indicating numerous targets for subsequent drilling efforts. This ambitious exploration program is slated for summer and fall of 2026, with additional drilling campaigns planned for winter 2026/2027.

The newly identified 11.5 kilometers of prospective strike length adds to Triton's already prioritized exploration target areas, encompassing the Red Rock Zone, Zone 31, the National Exploration Mine, as well as other pivotal Zones including 11, 21, 30, 33, and 34, collectively known as the Donaldson Zone.
