Outstanding Financial Achievements of METLEN in the First Half of 2026

METLEN's Remarkable Financial Performance in H1 2026

METLEN Energy & Metals PLC, a prominent player in the energy and metals industry, has unveiled its financial results for the first half of 2026, showcasing record-breaking figures across all key metrics.

Financial Highlights

In the first six months, METLEN reported revenues of €3.987 billion, representing an impressive 11% increase from €3.608 billion during the same period in 2025. This growth is attributed primarily to strong performances within the Energy, Infrastructure, and Concessions sectors.

The company's EBITDA reached an all-time high of €550 million, up from €445 million in the first half of 2025, reflecting robust performance across its business segments. Net income, after deducting minority interests, came in at €3.13 million compared to a substantial €254 million during the first half of 2025. Earnings per share also saw a rise, reaching €2.18 from €1.81 in the same period last year.

In addition to these impressive figures, METLEN affirmed its EBITDA forecast for 2026, estimating between €1.0 billion and €1.15 billion and a mid-term EBITDA target of between €1.92 billion and €2.08 billion. This reaffirms the company’s trajectory of sustainable growth.

Strong Cash Flow and Debt Reduction

Significant operational cash flow helped reduce adjusted net debt by €728 million, lowering the net leverage ratio from 3.1x to 1.7x for the fiscal year 2025. This demonstrates METLEN’s effective asset rotation model and disciplined capital allocation, resulting in strong cash generation.

Continuing to execute its strategic initiatives, METLEN has made substantial progress within its operational framework. A key milestone was achieved with the signing of a gallium purchase agreement with a leading U.S. tech firm, covering 25% of total production, consequently mitigating risks associated with alumina plant expansion and the inaugural gallium production initiative.

Energy Storage Projects

During this period, METLEN successfully initiated operations for approximately 0.4 GW of energy storage projects in Greece and Italy, while also advancing another 1.6 GW across southern and southeastern Europe. This strategic move aligns with the company's commitment to sustainable energy solutions and infrastructure development.

Leadership Insights

Commenting on the financial results, CEO Evangelos Mytilineos emphasized the importance of disciplined execution in achieving business goals outlined during the Capital Markets Day in April 2025. He stated: "Our strong performance reflects our firm commitment to our business plan and underscores our disciplined execution concerning our objectives. We are effectively addressing the challenges faced in 2025 and have resumed a growth trajectory aligned with our mid-term strategic goals."

He further added, "The promising start of the year strengthens our confidence in the guidelines presented during our Annual General Meeting. Challenges previously identified are being addressed, and implemented measures are yielding tangible results, enabling the company to regain momentum across all its operations."

Future Outlook

All of METLEN’s business segments reported strong growth during this period, attributed to solid cash generation and disciplined execution. This performance exemplifies the strength of its diversified business model and the dedication of its workforce.

In an environment characterized by geopolitical uncertainty and ongoing trade tensions, METLEN's synergistic model and integrated approach have demonstrated resilience, allowing it to turn challenges into opportunities. Competitive advantages have facilitated the forging of significant strategic partnerships, further solidifying METLEN's position in international markets.

Mytilineos concluded by acknowledging that while there is still much work ahead, the progress made is encouraging. METLEN remains committed to fulfilling its strategic objectives and creating long-term sustainable value for shareholders and stakeholders alike, consistently aiming to achieve high performance standards.
