In a spectacular display of commitment to wildlife conservation, LG Electronics has unveiled the West Indian Manatee as the latest feature in its Endangered Species Awareness Series. This initiative, launched in 2024 in collaboration with the National Wildlife Federation (NWF), aims to raise awareness about vulnerable wildlife and the importance of protecting their habitats. The West Indian Manatee, a gentle giant native to the warm waters of the Gulf Coast, is now beautifully showcased in a stunning 3D animation on LG's massive billboard in Times Square, New York City.

The display not only highlights the elegance of the manatee but also emphasizes the urgent need to protect its habitat from threats posed by pollution and habitat degradation. Through the vibrant anamorphic presentation, viewers can appreciate the beauty of these creatures, which were selected for this campaign via a community vote. LG aims to celebrate the grace of the West Indian Manatee while fostering a sense of responsibility toward its conservation.

The West Indian Manatee is currently listed as a threatened species under the Endangered Species Act and is protected under the Marine Mammal Protection Act. These marine mammals depend on warm coastal waters and thriving seagrass beds for their survival; however, they face numerous challenges, including pollution and habitat loss. Previous species highlighted in LG's conservation series have included the snow leopard, bald eagle, sea lion, red wolf, and monarch butterfly, each representing a vital role in their ecosystems.

In addition to raising awareness, LG has initiated educational programs aimed at engaging K-12 students in conservation efforts. These programs offer interactive content that underscores the essential roles endangered species play in ecosystems while providing actionable steps for fostering biodiversity and habitat protection.
