Increased Focus on Quality Control

The report emphasizes Palsystem's steadfast commitment to enhancing product safety and quality through a rigorous inspection system and preventive measures. In 2025, the total number of consumer complaints regarding delivered products, referred to as “feedback,” saw a remarkable decline, dropping from a steady trend in previous years. The total number of complaints decreased to 3,753 compared to 4,478 in the prior year, demonstrating the effectiveness of their strategies to tackle quality issues.

Addressing Climate Challenges

As the incidence of extreme weather events becomes increasingly common due to climate change, maintaining the quality of agricultural products has posed significant challenges. In 2025, a series of severe weather conditions, including summer heatwaves and prolonged rains in autumn, adversely affected product quality, particularly in crops such as onions from Hokkaido. These challenges prompted Palsystem to implement accelerated measures, such as the early introduction of dedicated cold storage materials and meticulous pre-packaging assessments, ensuring the quality of all produce delivered to consumers.

New Self-Testing Initiatives

In 2025, Palsystem initiated self-testing for the pathogenic bacteria Listeria monocytogenes, bolstering its efforts to minimize foodborne illness risks. The company’s Product Testing Center undertook 9,825 inspections throughout the year, focusing on hygiene indicators, pathogens, and residual chemicals. These added proactive measures aim to not only comply with public standards but also meet their self-imposed quality benchmarks, further ensuring product safety.

Safety assessments of household products also categorized 71.8% of new proposals, totaling 3,985 out of 5,550, as meeting safety standards.
