Experience Traditional Setsubun Rituals and Spectacular Diamond Fuji at Tokyo Tower

Celebrate Setsubun and Witness Diamond Fuji at Tokyo Tower

On February 3rd, Tokyo Tower will host its beloved Setsubun rituals and bean-throwing ceremony, a tradition that has spanned since its opening. This year's exciting events will take place at the main deck, located 150 meters above ground, around 10:45 AM. The ceremony, known as "Setsubun Tsuina-shiki & Mamemaki," is an integral festivity aimed at driving away evil spirits and inviting good fortune and health for the new year.

What to Expect at the Setsubun Event

As part of the ceremony, a priest from the nearby Zojoji Temple will perform rituals to purify the premises and ward off evil. Following this, the priest will join Tokyo Tower staff, including those born in the Year of the Animal represented by the current year, in the age-old tradition of throwing roasted soybeans into the crowd. This vibrant event not only captures the essence of Japanese culture but also invites participants to wish for health, prosperity, and happiness throughout the year.
