Exciting news for music and star enthusiasts! The Konica Minolta Planetarium in Tokyo has announced special additional performances of two popular planetarium concerts between June 7 and July 13, 2025. Both concerts had been in high demand, consistently selling out every show.

1. Planetarium Concert - Adriatic Starry Sky and Music from 'Porco Rosso'


This concert invites guests to experience the beautiful Adriatic starry sky while enjoying live classical performances of music from the beloved film "Porco Rosso." Professional musicians will perform selected pieces from Joe Hisaishi's soundtrack, which includes cherished melodies that transcend the confines of film music. Among the highlights are special renditions of the theme song "Sakura no Minoru Koro" and the ending theme "Toki ni wa Mukashi no Hanashi wo."

Featuring the "Amenoshita" piano quartet composed of a pianist, cellist, contrabassist, and saxophonist from Watanabe Hiromu Strings, this concert promises a magical ambiance with starry sky narrative and unique presentations typical of planetarium events. Revel in this enchanting experience under the celestial dome!

Note: The concert will only feature live music, with no scenes from the actual film displayed.

2. Planetarium Concert - Kenji Miyazawa and Starry Classical Night


Dive into the world of classical music connected to the literary genius Kenji Miyazawa in this enchanting planetarium concert, which features a live string quartet performance. Known for his masterpieces such as "Night on the Galactic Railroad," his works are often accompanied by well-recognized classical pieces.

This concert includes renowned compositions like Dvořák's Symphony No. 9 and Beethoven's "Fate," alongside Kenji Miyazawa's own composition "Hoshimeguri no Uta." The performance will be brought to life by the exclusive Kokon Quartet, comprised of Watanabe Hiromu Strings members featuring two violins, viola, and contrabass, creating a rich and profound soundscapes to accompany the stellar visuals.

Attendees will enjoy a harmonious blend of Miyazawa’s deep and imaginative narratives with the orchestra’s renditions against a backdrop of twinkling stars.
