Interactive Board Game Workshop for Educators in Sapporo

Discover the Joy of Learning with Board Games

In a unique initiative, ClaGla, a leading board game company based in Sapporo, is collaborating with the GENEBOX organization to host an interactive workshop tailored for educators and parents. Scheduled for August 5, 2026, this event promises to be not only educational but also a fun experience for all participants.

What to Expect at the Workshop

The workshop will take place at the charming Moikawashita BRICK, located in Sapporo, from 1:00 PM to 4:40 PM. This event is designed to help educators and caregivers understand the significant benefits of board games in learning through a two-part structure: playing and creating.

Part One: Play to Learn

The first segment of the workshop will focus on playing board games. The main facilitator, Ms. Kyara, an experienced former elementary school teacher who has successfully integrated board games into school curricula, will guide participants through a selection of carefully chosen games. Attendees can expect to hear her insight on the practicality of various games in classroom settings, discussing which ones might be ideal for recess or morning meetings.

Part Two: Create a Game

The second half offers a rare opportunity to join ClaGla's representative, Mr. Junjiro Kodama, in the creation of a board game titled 'Kids' Edition: Which One?', inviting participants to engage in a hands-on experience. This session highlights the importance of collaboration between game developers and educators, sparking a deeper understanding of the design process of board games. Creating a game enables participants to see how the intricate details within a simple card can significantly transform the overall gameplay experience.

Bonus Materials for Participants

All attendees will receive an exclusive 'Classroom Board Game Utilization Material' created by Ms. Kyara. This resource encapsulates practical strategies and game selections tailored for educational settings, inspiring educators to embark on their own initiatives with games back in the classroom.
