JD.com Welcomes Experts Delegation to Explore Digital Innovations

On November 21, 2025, a diverse delegation including representatives from the Chinese government and industry experts from around the world visited JD.com's global headquarters in Beijing. This visit was aimed at exploring firsthand the innovative digital strategies and technological advancements that have propelled JD.com to become a leader in e-commerce and logistics. The headquarters spans over 30 hectares, featuring more than two million square meters of modern office space that blends advanced technology with a human-centered design.

The experts started their tour at a detailed architectural model of the JD.com headquarters, which illustrated the company’s central offices and its global network. This representation highlighted JD.com's strategic vision and development plans, showcasing its commitment to maintaining a competitive edge in the tech industry. The delegation was particularly impressed by the breadth of JD.com’s operations, which encapsulate not just technological prowess but also a robust commitment to corporate responsibility.

Following this, they moved to a cultural exhibition space, where an integrated display of light and shadow technology vividly narrated the company’s evolution—from its humble beginnings at a small counter in Zhongguancun to its current status as a Fortune Global 500 company. The exhibition portrayed JD.com's rapid growth alongside China's economic development, emphasizing the company's role as a benchmark for innovation while balancing corporate responsibility in the digital age.

Christophe de Contenson, the mayor of Couzon in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of France, remarked that the grandeur of JD.com’s headquarters rivaled that of a city, noting the impressive operational scale and business volume.

The visit continued with an exploration of the 'JD Today' data screen located in the JD Vision exhibition area. This display showcased real-time transaction data, illustrating consumer consumption trends across the country through dynamic heat maps and product category rankings. This visual representation effectively communicated the operational efficiency of JD Logistics and reflected the vibrant dynamics of China's consumer economy.

In a post-visit exchange session, JD.com executives provided an in-depth overview of the corporation’s profile and the JD Global Sales business model. Established in 2015, JD Global Sales has expanded to over 100 countries and regions, incorporating more than 20,000 international brands. Through innovative business models and a sophisticated digital supply chain—with approximately 90 customs warehouses and overseas storage facilities—JD.com aims to facilitate efficient access for international brands to the Chinese market.

In the 2025 Fortune Global 500 list, JD.com ranked 44th overall and claimed the 10th position among China’s top 500 enterprises, further solidifying its status as a premier global player in the e-commerce sector. This visit not only underlined JD.com's role as a pioneer in digital innovation but also emphasized the importance of international collaboration in advancing technological excellence for future growth.
