Nagasaki Chanmen Unveils Seasonal Flavors with New Autumn Noodles

Dive into Autumn with Nagasaki Chanmen's New Offerings

Starting September 18, Nagasaki Chanmen will unveil two new autumn noodle dishes that blend the best aspects of ramen and champon. Known for its distinctive noodle and soup combination, Nagasaki Chanmen has established 34 locations predominantly in Western Japan and is eager to share these seasonal delights with its customers.

New Dish Highlights

1. Tsukimi Gyuumori Chanmen
Price: ¥1,080 (including tax: ¥1,188)
This dish features generous servings of beautifully seasoned beef and onions, topped with a rich, runny egg yolk to represent the cozy warmth of autumn. Inspired by traditional sukiyaki, it presents a novel take on the famous champon noodles that reflect the seasonal bounty.

2. Autumn Vegetable Chanmen
Price: ¥1,080 (including tax: ¥1,188)
This offering showcases an array of autumn’s finest vegetables such as pumpkin, lotus root, taro, and eggplant. They are combined with a distinctive black vinegar dressing that imbues the dish with depth and flavor, alongside a crunchy garnish of black fungus to enhance the texture.

Both of these autumn specials will be available from September 18 until late November, perfectly timed for the traditional Tsukimi harvest festival.

Craftsmanship Behind Nagasaki Chanmen

Nagasaki Chanmen emphasizes quality in every aspect of its offerings:

  • - Vegetable Variety: Each bowl contains around 380 grams of fresh vegetables, including cabbage, bean sprouts, onions, carrots, and more. This substantial amount of vegetables meets the daily recommended intake for adults.
  • - Freshly Made Noodles: The noodles are crafted daily in-house from domestically sourced wheat. This dedication ensures customers receive a consistently fresh and delicious product.
  • - Rich Broth: The soup, made from a blend of chicken and pork bones, embodies the restaurant’s long-standing tradition. It is infused with the flavors of various vegetables and seafood, giving it a unique umami taste.

The Essence of Chanmen

With over 50 years of history, Nagasaki Chanmen is proud of its unique identity, which harmoniously combines the best features of ramen and champon. The richness of ingredients—eleven types of vegetables and seafood—offers diners a hearty and satisfying experience. Their reputation as a “Noodle Chinese Restaurant” reflects their expanded menu, which now includes not only traditional chanmen but also dishes like Nagasaki-style fried noodles and even more authentic Chinese options such as soup dumplings and mapo rice.

Nagasaki Chanmen's story began in 1971 when the first store opened in Onoda City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, rapidly gaining popularity across the Chugoku region. The restaurant's name stems from its unique approach of merging champon's hearty goodness with the robust nature of ramen.
