Kansas City's Historic Haunts Welcome Their 51st Season of Terror

Kansas City's Legendary Haunts: A 51-Year Tradition of Fear

As the leaves begin to change and the air turns crisp, Kansas City’s Historic West Bottoms District comes alive with frights and thrills for its 51st Halloween season. Kicking off on September 12, the city’s legendary haunted attractions, including Beast, Edge of Hell, and Macabre Cinema, promise a spine-tingling experience that continues to draw thrill-seekers year after year.

A Weekend of Terror Awaits

The haunted attractions will be open nightly until November 1, with peak excitement happening during weekends. September evenings feature smaller crowds, resulting in a panic-inducing experience compounded by unexpected jump scares and exhilarating surprises. For visitors looking for a lively—and slightly less terrifying—experience, evenings in October offer a mix of screams and laughter, combining the thrills of haunted houses with fall festival vibes.

This season, all ticket purchases will utilize a timed-entry system, so advance purchases are highly recommended. This ensures that visitors can choose their preferred time to tackle the three terrifying destinations. To prepare for an adrenaline rush of fun, guests should arrive at least an hour before their scheduled entry time to check in at the Central Waiver Station, where they will receive their entry wristbands.
