New Asia Forum Aims to Attract $30 Billion Investment in Bali
A groundbreaking event is on the horizon as the New Asia Forum is set to launch in Bali, Indonesia, from December 3 to 4, 2026. This inaugural forum aims to facilitate a whopping US$30 billion in investments, marking a significant step forward in establishing a global platform for economic partnership and capital formation focused on the New Asia.
Organized by Danantara Indonesia, the forum has garnered the support of His Excellency Prabowo Subianto, President of the Republic of Indonesia. The primary goal is to connect long-term capital with high-potential projects shaping the future of Asia—a region poised to be at the forefront of global economic growth, contributing nearly 60% of the rise in global economic activity, according to the IMF.
As the world observes a shift in the economic center of gravity, new opportunities arise across Asia. This region is heralding a new generation of dynamic economies, characterized by connectivity, technological ambition, and an ability to finance their futures. However, despite its potential, Asia has historically attracted less than its fair share of long-term international capital. The New Asia Forum intends to bridge this gap by creating pathways for meaningful investments.
Unlike standard forums, which often get bogged down in lengthy presentations, the New Asia Forum is meticulously designed for transaction readiness. It focuses on capital deployment and execution, ensuring that attendees can transform discussions into actionable commitments. With a curated list of investment-ready opportunities, the forum is set to facilitate significant financial transactions across eight strategic sectors:
1. Strategic Resources and Downstreaming
2. Energy and Power
3. Mobility and Advanced Manufacturing
4. Digital Infrastructure and AI
5. Food and Agribusiness
6. Trade and Connectivity
7. Tourism and Creative Economy
8. Education and Human Capital
Leading dignitaries, including heads of state, ministers, sovereign investors, and CEOs from global enterprises, will converge to translate their interests into signed agreements. The forum aims not only to initiate investments but also to track commitments and progress across its future renditions; this dedication to accountability is expected to enhance partnerships and bolster sustained investment in the region.
Rosan Roeslani, CEO of Danantara Indonesia and Minister of Investment to Indonesia, expressed enthusiasm over the event's potential, stating, "New Asia Forum brings long-term global capital closer to the opportunities being created across Indonesia and the wider region. As Indonesia's sovereign investor and a founding partner of the Forum, we aim to unlock these opportunities for long-term value. This is Indonesia engaging the world from a position of confidence, ambition, and collaboration."
Richard Attias, Founder and Chairman of Richard Attias Associates, also emphasized the evolving narrative around Asia. He stated: "For decades, Asia has been viewed primarily as a destination for global capital. That story is changing. The New Asia will not simply attract capital. It will increasingly create it, direct it, and determine where it can have the greatest impact. We are entering one of the most vital investment cycles of our generation, and Asia is at its center."
The upcoming New Asia Forum is expected to attract over 1,000 leaders and will feature more than 100 speakers across 40 sessions, making it one of the defining gatherings that will shape discussions around investment and economic partnerships in Asia. As the event draws near, the anticipation builds around its potential to reshape the landscape for future investments, serving as a cornerstone for the New Asia narrative and igniting a new wave of economic collaboration.
