Tixr Appoints Wayne Grierson as Managing Director for UK and EMEA Amid Global Expansion

Tixr Welcomes Wayne Grierson as Managing Director for the UK and EMEA

In a move signaling its commitment to expanding its footprint in international markets, Tixr, a global frontrunner in modernizing ticketing and live event commerce, has appointed Wayne Grierson as the Managing Director for the UK and EMEA. Grierson, who is based out of Tixr’s London office, is tasked with driving business growth and establishing strategic partnerships in these key regions.

The demand for modern ticketing solutions is on the rise among organizers in the UK, Europe, and the greater EMEA area. They are turning away from traditional ticketing methods, searching for platforms that can enhance supporter experiences, ensure event integrity, and provide brands with greater control. Grierson aims to assemble a diverse portfolio of event types that reflects Tixr's robust American presence, indicating a keen strategy to replicate Tixr’s success overseas.

Robert Davari, the CEO of Tixr, stated, "The EMEA is a priority for Tixr, and Wayne possesses the leadership and business discipline required to strengthen our presence in the region. He realizes the complexities within the market and knows how to translate regional opportunities into sustained growth. His mission is to cultivate business in the UK and EMEA akin to the balanced approach we've established in the U.S., serving venues, music, sports, and major brands in live entertainment with a ticketing platform that meets modern expectations."

Historically, Tixr has collaborated with various organizations in the UK, Europe, and the Middle East, supporting a wide array of events—from sports and music festivals to cultural conventions and corporate-led experiences. Notable collaborations include the Royal Windsor Horse Show, Boxxer in the UK, DreamHack across Sweden, the UK, and the U.S., Dublin Comic Con, and RuPaul's DragCon.

With Tixr opening an office in London back in 2023, the company has continued to broaden its regional influence to match growing demands for contemporary alternatives to outdated ticketing infrastructures. Before his new role at Tixr, Grierson served as the COO of StubHub International, leading operations during a phase of strategic growth and enhancing fan access to live events outside the U.S. His diverse background includes leadership positions at NBCUniversal Media, eBay, and Motorsport Network. Notably, he also held the Managing Director role at Motorsport Events, overseeing all business operations and strategies for live event production and audience engagement.

On his new role, Grierson expressed, "After two decades in the live events and online commerce sectors, I've witnessed ticketing remain stagnant, while other sectors evolve. Tixr is building what the market needs—a modern platform that addresses the complexities promoters and venues face. Our tools tackle scalping, enhance flexibility for supporters, and unlock revenues traditional systems overlook. This means our partners can foster their relationships with fans without being anchored by rigid ticketing infrastructures. The UK and European markets are primed for this transformation, and I am eager to assist partners in reimagining what's possible."

Grierson's appointment underscores Tixr's dedication to strong regional leadership, enabling local teams to drive forward the company’s international strategy. His leadership comes at a critical juncture for Tixr as it transitions from establishing its international foundations to actively expanding in key markets. With dedicated management in place, Tixr plans to continue investing in partnerships and teams throughout the region, adopting an organizer-first approach to a broader array of venues, sports properties, and live entertainment events across the UK and EMEA.
