Debuting commercially in 2018 with Family Wars, Sakamoto has gained acclaim for his work in the Strongest Killer Legend Kunio series. His most recent recognition comes from his directorial work on the Baby's Bad Creatures series, which won the Daniel A. Craft Award for Best Action Film at the New York Asian Film Festival. With the upcoming Nemureru Baka, based on a work by Masakazu Ishiguro, slated for release in March 2025, Sakamoto continues to be a pivotal figure in the industry.

Ozaki Sekai-kan, Creep Hyp's lead vocalist and guitarist, is not only recognized for his musical talents but also as an author, having published several books including Yusuke and Bitter Juice 100%. His literary work has earned him nominations for prestigious awards, showcasing his versatility as an artist.

Opening Ceremony of SSFF & ASIA 2025


The festival will open with a grand ceremony featuring a red carpet event at Takanawa Gateway City on May 28, 2025. This celebration will kick off the festival's activities, which runs from April 24 to June 30, 2025. Following the red carpet, guests including festival representatives, notable directors, and film industry icons such as Tetsuya Bessho and filmmaker Shunji Iwai will be present to celebrate the numerous award winners and new film projects.
