Discover the Adorable Yet Multifaceted World of Pingu at the Pingu Exhibition

Explore the Pingu Exhibition: A Unique Experience

From July 10 to September 6, 2026, the YURAKUCHO MUSEUM in Tokyo will host the "Cute but not just Cute!? Pingu Exhibition." This unprecedented event invites visitors to know, play, and enjoy Pingu in a theme park-inspired setting, showcasing the charm of this beloved character in a hands-on experience.

A Closer Look at Pingu

The exhibition will feature rare clay models and production materials such as storyboards and early studio records used in the animation process. Through these displays, attendees will get an insight into the history of Pingu and the beloved characters that accompany him, allowing them to feel the essence of the series. A photo spot designed to resemble "Pingu's House" will also be available for fans to capture memorable moments.

Moreover, the exhibition will focus on the rich emotional range presented through Pingu’s expressions, unique movements, and the whimsical "Pingu language" that transcends verbal communication. Visitors will have the opportunity to see how clay animation brings Pingu to life, from stretching and dancing to playful antics, experiencing firsthand how this lovable character embodies more than just cuteness!

Exciting Collaboration with Tatsuya Tanaka

In a fascinating twist, the exhibition will feature a collaboration with renowned miniature photographer and artist Tatsuya Tanaka, who is celebrated for transforming everyday objects into miniature art pieces. Tanaka will debut three Pingu-themed works from his previous collection and is currently creating new pieces exclusive to this exhibition. Attendees can expect a delightful blend of creativity that showcases "cute but not just cute!" Pingu in imaginative ways.

Some of the collaborative works include "Pingu Goonigiri," "An Unbreakable Bond," and "Pingu Breaking Out of Its Shell." This collaboration promises to enchant visitors through Tanaka's whimsical miniature portrayals.
