Join the Summer Festival: A Unique Cultural Exchange Event for Kids

Creating and Enjoying Summer Together

The Child Fund Japan, an international NGO based in Suginami, Tokyo, is thrilled to announce the hosting of a unique cultural exchange event: the 'Summer Festival,' scheduled for August 2 and 9, 2025. In collaboration with Elje, a nonprofit organization supporting language and cultural assistance in Japan, this event will take place at the Nishiogikubo Community Center. This festival aims to bring together Japanese children and those of foreign origins for a collaborative experience in creating and enjoying traditional summer festival activities.

As Japan sees an increasing number of children with foreign roots, Child Fund Japan has launched a learning support initiative called 'Friendly Learning Space' ('Frespe') in 2023. This program provides a supportive environment where children can improve their Japanese language skills and receive academic assistance. The upcoming Summer Festival is part of our activities to expand opportunities for children to connect and coexist in a multicultural community.
