Discovering the First Authentic Mongolian Restaurant in Japan: Dezhun Yuan

skilled artisans create a wrapper that is delicately thin, evoking the softness of a cicada's wing and the elegance of a lotus flower. This intricate frill design provides not just a visual feast but also enhances the overall dining experience.

To maintain high standards while staying true to traditional flavors, both the wrapper and special spices are imported directly from Inner Mongolia. The filling is made with fresh, handpicked ingredients sourced from within Japan itself.

A team of expert chefs from the Inner Mongolia headquarters collaborates with local Japanese chefs to ensure that the mutton's unique flavor is subtly enhanced, creating a milder taste that aligns with Japanese consumers' preferences. Additionally, they offer specially developed ‘Wagyu Shuizhu’ to cater to the palate of the local market.

In response to local dining habits and preferences for light snacks, the portion sizes have also been modified. While a traditional serving generally consists of eight pieces, the Tokyo location features a convenient three-piece portion, perfect for sharing or enjoying on your own.

Prices for the main products include the Mutton Shuizhu at 820 yen, Wagyu Shuizhu at 918 yen, and Fresh Pork Shuizhu at 628 yen (all prices inclusive of tax). This allows patrons to savor authentic dim sum for under 1,000 yen while enjoying Tokyo's vibrant culinary scene.

The slightly fatty Shuizhu pairs well with 'zhuan cha' (black tea), which balances the richness of the dish. Under the slogan, 'One pot, one piece, one story' (一壺、一両、一叙), guests are encouraged to bask in a warm and inviting atmosphere as they enjoy their meal.

An Immersive Cultural Space

With a stunning investment of 200 million yen, the restaurant's interior is designed to accommodate between 96 and 110 patrons, complete with two private dining rooms. The space artfully merges beauty with cultural elements, creating a unique dining environment.

On opening day, guests will be treated to live performances featuring the morin khuur (horsehead fiddle) and Inner Mongolian folk songs, along with khoomei (throat singing) by a professional performance team. This immersive experience allows visitors to engage all their senses as they appreciate the rich dining culture of Inner Mongolia.

All-Day Dining Experience

Open from 11 AM to 11 PM, Dezhun Yuan offers a seamless dining experience without breaks between lunch and dinner services, catering to guest needs at any time. The diverse menu includes appetizers, dim sum selections, and authentic dishes like Roasted Lamb at 3,880 yen and Whole Roasted Lamb at 88,800 yen.

The chairperson of Nihon Hiyun Shouji Co., Ltd, Party Hiyun, and the managing director Wang Di are seen celebrating a memorable day during their visit to the restaurant.
