Ginkgo Bioworks Appoints Steven Coen as Chief Financial Officer
Ginkgo Bioworks, a trailblazer in the field of cell programming and biosecurity, has made a significant leadership change. The company recently announced the appointment of Steven Coen as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO), set to take effect after the anticipated resignation of Mark Dmytruk on May 30, 2025. This strategic move comes as Ginkgo evolves its financial oversight to better align with its ambitious goals.
Steven Coen, who joined Ginkgo as Chief Accounting Officer just two years ago, brings a wealth of experience to his new role, totaling over three decades in public accounting and corporate finance. Prior to his time at Ginkgo, Coen served as Corporate Vice President and Corporate Controller for Charles River Laboratories, a major player in contract research for pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors. His background includes important positions in accounting and finance within technology and medical device industries, along with 17 years at Deloitte Touche LLP in their audit practice.
As the CEO of Ginkgo Bioworks, Jason Kelly expressed gratitude towards Dmytruk for his dedicated service and leadership throughout transformative periods for the company.
