After undergoing renovations starting in April 2023, the Komazawa Olympic Park General Sports Gymnasium will officially reopen its doors. To commemorate this event, a grand reopening ceremony is scheduled. The day will be filled with various activities including demonstrations by Olympians, 3x3 exhibition matches, mini live performances by artists, and interactive sports experiences for everyone.

Overview of Komazawa Gym


Komazawa Gym is located in Komazawa Park, Setagaya, Tokyo, at 1-1 Komazawa Park. The renovation features several upgraded elements designed for enhanced accessibility and improved experience:
  • - Installation of LED lighting with reduced glare for a better sports atmosphere.
  • - Upgraded arena flooring made from domestic woods.
  • - Modernized air conditioning that uses a top-to-bottom air circulation system.
  • - New elevators to accommodate wheelchairs and increased wheelchair seating for better accessibility.
  • - Revamped spectator seating, incorporating sections from the Tokyo 2020 Aquatics Centre.
  • - Installation of solar panels to promote sustainability.
The gym officially reopens on July 6, 2025.
