Pylontech Launches PyOcean: A New Era in Energy Storage Solutions
In a noteworthy development in the energy sector, Pylontech, recognized globally for its innovative energy storage systems, has recently unveiled its latest offering,
PyOcean. This new utility-scale energy storage solution was presented at
Intersolar Europe, heralding a significant advancement in energy storage technology.
The PyOcean platform comes equipped with two prominent configurations: a
6.4MWh system powered by Pylontech's proprietary
601Ah lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cells, and a slightly smaller
6.26MWh version utilizing
588Ah cells. This launch underscores Pylontech’s comprehensive expertise that spans both the development of battery cells and their integration into larger systems, illustrating the company's ongoing commitment to expanding its role within the utility-scale energy storage arena.
Enhancing Efficiency and Reducing Costs
Designed with operational efficiency in mind, the 6.4MWh system is tailored for multiple applications including renewable energy co-location, energy shifting, capacity-value projects, and peak delivery during evening hours. On the other hand, the 6.26MWh configuration is particularly adept at standalone Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), providing flexibility at the grid level and excelling in peak-shaving scenarios, catering to high-frequency cycling demands effectively.
One of the standout features of the PyOcean is its high energy density. The
601Ah cells achieve an impressive density of
426Wh/L, allowing for maximized energy storage capacity within standard 20-foot containers. This enhancement not only reduces the physical space required but also lowers the associated infrastructure and project costs, making it an economically viable option for large-scale applications.
Additionally, the PyOcean systems are characterized by a factory pre-assembled design, facilitating rapid deployment. This feature is accompanied by comprehensive multi-layer safety protections that span from the individual cell to the overall system, ensuring secure and reliable operations. The intelligent operation is further supported by a
Local Energy Management System (LEMS), enhancing asset performance throughout the lifecycle of the project.
Pylontech's Growth in the Industry
While Pylontech has etched its reputation as a leader in residential energy storage, the company's efforts over the past year have increasingly focused on commercial and utility-scale applications. It has made remarkable progress delivering substantial projects, with milestones including a
400MWh utility-scale energy storage project in
Ningxia, China, and an
80MWh project in
Jiangsu. The inclusion of Pylontech in BloombergNEF's Tier 1 Energy Storage Manufacturer list further reflects its capabilities in executing large-scale projects.
With over 17 years of specialized experience, Pylontech is dedicated to enhancing its service capacity, having established
9 overseas subsidiaries and
25 localized service centers globally. These initiatives ensure that customers receive tailored technical support alongside efficient project lifecycle services across major energy markets.
A spokesperson for Pylontech stated, "We are committed to delivering reliable and efficient energy storage solutions for diverse applications while working closely with our partners to build a more resilient and sustainable energy future." This commitment signals not only Pylontech’s leadership in the energy storage sector but also its vision for advancing energy solutions that respond to the ever-evolving energy landscape.
