The Brotherhood Sister Sol's 2026 Voices Gala Celebrates Iman and Derek Fordjour in NYC

The Brotherhood Sister Sol's 2026 Voices Gala

On May 14, 2026, The Brotherhood Sister Sol (BroSis) will host its annual Voices Gala at the iconic Ziegfeld Ballroom in New York City. This much-anticipated event will honor model and entrepreneur Iman, as well as acclaimed artist Derek Fordjour. Both honorees are celebrated for their contributions to advancing youth leadership and creativity.

Founded in Harlem in 1995, BroSis is dedicated to youth development and social justice. The organization focuses on empowering young people by providing mentorship, academic support, and leadership training. With a reach that extends citywide, BroSis helps thousands of young individuals each year navigate their pathways to success, ensuring they understand their heritage and unleash their potential to excel in education and life.

Over the years, BroSis has achieved remarkable success; since 2018, 100% of its high school seniors have graduated, and 94% have enrolled in college since 2023. Khary Lazarre-White, the Executive Director and Co-Founder of BroSis, emphasized the urgency of support for young people today, saying, "Our young people are navigating an increasingly complex world shaped by economic insecurity and structural barriers that limit opportunities. We must provide not only access but a consistent safety net to nurture their potential."

Iman expressed her belief in the significance of investing in youth during her acceptance speech. She stated, "When we invest in young people, we invest in the future of our shared humanity. BroSis provides not just support, but a safe haven where young voices can be seen, heard, and empowered. It is an honor to stand with an organization that uplifts young individuals and recognizes their power as changemakers."

Similarly, Derek Fordjour highlighted BroSis as a driving force for social equity, noting, "They meet urgent needs with compassion and unwavering dedication. Their mission is rooted in a radical love that unifies individuals and communities."

Featuring an array of prominent supporters, including Turner Construction Company serving as the Lead Sponsor, the Gala promises to be a celebration of collaboration and commitment towards empowering youth across New York City. Major sponsors such as JP Morgan, Morgan Stanley, and Latham & Watkins, among others, have come together to support this vital cause.

The Voices Gala isn’t merely a fundraiser; it is a moment to invest in the potential of youth leaders who are shaping a better future. Paul Butler, President and Chief Transformation Officer at New America, reaffirmed this belief, stating, "When young people have consistent support and real opportunities, they thrive. In these uncertain times, this mission is even more crucial."

As the event approaches, co-chairs and organizing committees finalize arrangements, ensuring the night will be one of inspiration and community commitment. Tickets are expected to sell out quickly as individuals and organizations rally to support BroSis’s transformative work.

The funds raised during the 2026 Voices Gala will directly support BroSis's year-round programs aimed at expanding services and outreach for youth across New York City, ultimately fostering an environment where every young person has the tools to succeed and lead.
