SANY Launches Its First Global Remanufacturing Facility in Hainan
On December 23, 2025, SANY Group officially commenced the operations of its inaugural global remanufacturing base for engineering machinery. Located in Dongfang within Hainan Province, this ambitious project represents a significant milestone in SANY's globalization and sustainability strategy. On its inauguration day, the facility received orders totaling 100 million CNY (approximately 14.27 million USD) from Southeast Asia and Africa, marking a promising start for the new base.
The Hunan-Hainan Industrial Park, co-constructed in a pilot free trade zone, aims to enhance inter-regional collaboration between Hunan and Hainan provinces. The facility, which covers an area of around 10 hectares, is strategically positioned to leverage the industrial and political advantages of both regions, enabling Chinese companies to expand their global presence.
Construction of the park began in August 2023 and involved a total investment of 600 million CNY (about 85.62 million USD). Once fully operational, the facility is projected to achieve an annual production value of approximately 750 million CNY (around 107.02 million USD). Its core focus is on the maintenance and remanufacturing of key components for engineering machinery, as well as second-hand equipment from both domestic and international markets, promoting circular resource reuse in the industrial sector.
Moreover, being part of Hainan's free trade zone means that eligible value-added transformations enjoy tariff preferences. Additionally, the remanufacturing operations can benefit from customs procedures designed to facilitate tax incentives for businesses and individuals. The park has also been included in the “Double 15%” tax incentive policy, allowing a reduction of the corporate income tax by 15% on its outsourced processes.
Tang Xiuguo, the president of SANY, emphasized the strategic significance of this project, stating, "This initiative allows SANY to deepen its globalization, digital transformation, and shift toward a low-carbon enterprise. Moving forward, SANY will actively seek new remanufacturing models, promote the circular reuse of industrial resources, and work with partners to move the global engineering machinery industry toward a greener, low-carbon future.”
The inauguration of this remanufacturing base not only signifies SANY's commitment to sustainable practices but also positions the company as a leader in the engineering machinery sector. By focusing on innovative and eco-friendly solutions, SANY is set to play an essential role in transforming the industry.
Applications for partnerships and collaborations are already underway, as the facility aims to foster a robust network that can facilitate knowledge exchange and technological advancements in remanufacturing practices globally. As SANY embarks on this new journey, industry observers eagerly anticipate the impact this facility will have on the engineering machinery market and its contribution to a sustainable industrial future.
