Celebrating New Doctor of Behavioral Health Graduates from Cummings Graduate Institute

Cummings Graduate Institute Celebrates New DBH Graduates

On February 24, 2026, Cummings Graduate Institute for Behavioral Health Studies (CGI) held a significant ceremony to celebrate the graduation of four new Doctors of Behavioral Health (DBH). This event took place on September 26, 2025, in Chandler, Arizona, a site rich in history and culture, being the traditional lands of the Akimel O'odham (Pima) and Pee Posh (Maricopa) Peoples of the Gila River Indian Community.

The ceremony was a heartfelt tribute to a group of innovative healthcare leaders dedicated to improving integrated behavioral health through strong leadership and advocacy. With their unique perspectives and life experiences, each graduate has shown a commitment to transforming the landscape of healthcare.

Graduate Highlights

Dr. Earl Lewis, DBH, LPC, Ed.S.

Dr. Lewis is a licensed professional counselor across several states including New Jersey, Virginia, Florida, and Arizona. His focus on culturally responsive care particularly supports men and families. His research project, titled Effects of Community-Based Interventions to Improve Physical and Mental Health in Men, investigates strategies aiming to enhance health literacy, boost preventive care participation, and advocate for better physical and mental health outcomes among underserved male populations.

Dr. Don Miller, DBH, LPC, CMAC, CAMC, CGS, EMDR

With over two decades of experience, Dr. Miller is the founder and CEO of The E Effect, LLC, specializing in behavioral health. His vital research project, Environmental Impact on Autoimmune Disease and Anxiety in Black and Brown Communities, delves into systemic racial disparities and environmental factors affecting health. Dr. Michelle Stroebel, DBH, MA, NCC, LCMHC, NADD-CC, CCM

Dr. Stroebel is a licensed counselor with extensive experience advocating for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities as well as neurodivergent and LGBTQIA+ populations. Dr. Jeremy Henderson-Teelucksingh, DBH, LPC-MHSP

A licensed counselor and human relations consultant, Dr. Henderson-Teelucksingh focused his work on a little-discussed but critical aspect of family dynamics. Dr. Cara English, CEO and Chief Academic Officer of CGI, expressed immense pride in the graduates, stating, “At CGI, each student selects an area of focus based on their experiences, both personal and professional. The Doctor of Behavioral Health degree is designed to equip them with the leadership skills needed to drive healthcare improvements by partnering with communities.”

Program Impact

The DBH program at CGI is dedicated to preparing healthcare professionals who seek to enact significant changes in behavioral health care delivery mechanisms through advanced education, research initiatives, and collaborative efforts across disciplines. The graduates emerge ready to tackle intricate issues that intersect medical, behavioral, and community health systems.
