CATL Unveils Middle East's Largest Energy Service Center in Riyadh
CATL's Commitment to New Energy in Riyadh
On January 10, 2026, CATL, a leading global energy company, inaugurated the NING SERVICE Experience Center in Riyadh, marking its first facility for new energy after-sales service in the Middle East and the largest such center outside of China. This strategic move aims to bolster CATL's footprint in the region's service market while contributing to the transition to cleaner energy systems.
The center's opening is timely as Saudi Arabia and the broader Middle East pursue ambitious electrification and decarbonization goals as part of the Vision 2030 program and various national initiatives. The Kingdom targets having 30% of all vehicles in Riyadh as electric by 2030, as part of a broader strategy to reduce emissions by 50% in the capital. To support this transition, policies are promoting the use of electric forklifts and encouraging the adoption of green energy in agriculture through the Saudi Green Initiative. However, challenges remain, including a continued reliance on oil, rising electricity demand, extreme climate conditions, and limitations in charging and maintenance infrastructure.
The Riyadh center aims to address these obstacles by offering comprehensive after-sales support throughout the product lifecycle. This includes training local technical specialists and accelerating the deployment of advanced electrification and energy storage solutions.
Spanning over 7,000 square meters, the facility comprises exhibit areas, diagnostic and maintenance zones, repair shops, training spaces, and customer waiting areas. It serves not only as a local service hub for the region but also showcases CATL's capabilities in electric mobility, energy storage, and smart electrification. Additionally, it acts as a platform to connect various stakeholders and resources, fostering industrial synergy and sustainable growth.
Comprehensive New Energy Service Approach
Leveraging CATL's extensive R&D experience and manufacturing capabilities, the NING SERVICE Experience Center delivers services that cover the entire lifecycle of products, including diagnostics, repairs, battery maintenance and regeneration, as well as recycling, logistics, and training. The services offered span seven main product categories ranging from passenger and commercial vehicles to energy storage systems, setting a new standard for new energy service provision in the region.
Thanks to advanced diagnostics and CATL's expertise in repair processes, the comprehensive after-sales services at the center help corporate clients reduce downtimes, lower maintenance costs, and extend asset life, ensuring increased long-term performance and residual value while lowering overall ownership costs and delivering more reliable services for end-users.
Developing Local Capabilities and Building Potential
The Riyadh center plays a crucial role in advancing CATL's local initiatives in the Middle East by supporting talent development and creating long-term local value. With dedicated training facilities, CATL enhances technical skills in after-sales service and develops local job opportunities. NING SERVICE operates ten training centers worldwide, collectively covering an area of 2,300 m² and has certified over 9,700 new energy after-sales service specialists through partnerships with vocational institutions.
In addition to talent development, CATL is deepening its localization strategy by strengthening local infrastructure and forming ecosystem partnerships. Discussions are underway with leading local industry players, including fuel network operators, to rapidly supply green electricity to gas stations and large infrastructural enterprises for electric fleet electrification, as well as engaging with energy companies to implement solar and energy storage solutions.
These initiatives not only enhance CATL's local service capabilities and market trust but also drive the mass adoption of comprehensive new energy solutions across the Middle East through the engagement of key partners.
Ahmed Ibrahim, the Deputy General Manager of Procurement at Al Drees, a leading fuel services and logistics provider in Saudi Arabia, remarked, "As a leading energy company in Saudi Arabia, we see tremendous potential in the energy transformation. We plan to implement solar energy and storage solutions at our gas stations and electrify forklifts to reduce our dependence on oil. We look forward to collaborating with top players like CATL to accelerate this transformation."
Lin Chaofan, CEO of F4S, stated that the launch of CATL’s flagship after-sales service center in Riyadh reflects the shared commitment to global energy transformation, emphasizing the increasing demand for sustainable solutions in Saudi Arabia and their unified vision for a cleaner, electrified future.
A Part of a Global Network
The opening of the center in Saudi Arabia represents another significant step in CATL's development of a global service network, which includes over 1,200 professional service stations in 76 countries and 73 parts warehouses worldwide. CATL leads the world in spare parts reserves, consisting entirely of original components, with a total warehouse area exceeding 370,000 m². To date, NING SERVICE has serviced over six million electric vehicles, providing professional after-sales services for customers across personal, commercial vehicles and energy storage sectors.
Long-Term Commitment to the Middle East
Bruce Li, Director of Quality Systems, After-Sales Service, and Battery Management at CATL, remarked that the Riyadh center embodies the strategic, long-term vision for the region. "Our decision to establish a center in Riyadh is not just a commercial choice; it is a long-term commitment," stated Li. "This first NING SERVICE Experience Center in the Middle East is more than just a service point; it's a new ecosystem for energy industry after-sales services that integrates advanced technology, professional training, and industry collaboration, effectively connecting various stakeholders and resources to promote deeper synergy and sustainable development throughout the region."
With the acceleration of the electrification process and the deployment of energy storage solutions in the Middle East, CATL’s established NING SERVICE network is positioned to deliver the technical reliability and enduring partnerships essential for this transformation.
