In a groundbreaking move, MemorialCare Imaging Center at Long Beach Medical Center has introduced a state-of-the-art 3-Tesla (3T) magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system, solidifying its position as the sole provider of this advanced technology in the Greater Long Beach area. This acquisition was made possible by the generous contribution of Hing and Doris Hung, who have been long-time supporters of the hospital.

The new 3T MRI system distinguishes itself with significantly enhanced imaging capabilities across multiple specialties, including pediatrics, allowing for a broader range of diagnostic applications. The advanced technology provides superior image quality, enabling radiologists to visualize smaller structures, such as nerves and blood vessels, along with subtle changes in tissue not easily detectable with traditional MRI systems.
