Transforming Local Businesses Through International Internships in Japan
In August 2026, Japanese company gift connect, under the leadership of CEO José Reyes, hosted a significant event in collaboration with Yoshida Surveying and Design, located in Morioka City, Iwate Prefecture. The university's Professor Chaiwat from King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) visited to share outcomes from international internships and discuss future collaborations.
Yoshida Surveying and Design has actively participated in welcoming international students from KMUTT, Chulalongkorn University, and Hanoi University of Civil Engineering. The collaboration with KMUTT has now extended to two consecutive years, while partnerships with Chulalongkorn University have reached three instances. Notably, this year marks the first engagement with students from Hanoi University.
The influx of international students has not only enabled practical skill acquisition for the interns but has also created numerous opportunities for communication between employees and students in English. These exchanges have fostered a culture of sharing diverse perspectives and values within the organization, leading to a transformative effect across the company.
During the recent visit, both university and corporate representatives engaged in valuable discussions about the outcomes of the internship program and considered ongoing collaborative efforts.
