Exciting Charity Event in Roppongi Featuring Popular Food Stalls and Professional Appraisers!

Unique Charity Event to Support Underserved Children

On November 16, 2025, the Bell Salle Roppongi Grand Conference Center will host a special charity event titled "Namida no Kaitori-tai in Roppongi — Blue Santa and Charity Banquet." The event is organized collaboratively by Takafumi Horie, the nonprofit Japanese Child Support Association (represented by Shinobu Iwaasa), and Kaitori Maxus (led by Sekiemon). This initiative aligns with the opening of the Kaitori Maxus Horie Mont restaurant in Roppongi and promotes the collaboration between Kaitori Maxus and the musical "Blue Santa Claus 2025."

The mission is clear: foster a culture of donating unused items to bring smiles to children's faces, transforming them into donations for those in need. The Japanese reuse market is estimated at 3 trillion yen, but astonishingly, there are over 66 trillion yen worth of "sleeping assets" or unwanted items in households across the nation. Kaitori Maxus aims to circulate these hidden treasures back to society, benefiting the community, the environment, and the futures of underprivileged children.

The target fundraising amount for this charity event is set at 10 million yen, marking a new step for social contribution activities through reuse. This event promises a unique experience for attendees.

Background of the Event

The initiative stemmed from Takafumi Horie's involvement with Kaitori Maxus, the first company he joined as a franchisee. The seeds of this project were sown when Sekiemon, the representative of Kaitori Maxus, appeared as an aspirant on a YouTube finance entertainment program featuring Horie, Yuji Mizoguchi, and Yuta Misaki. Through this platform, Horie resonated with Sekiemon’s earnestness toward business and the potential of Kaitori Maxus' innovative reuse model. Horie's commitment to franchise involvement and his subsequent consultancy role solidified the vision of the "Namida no Kaitori-tai" project.

This project blossomed as Horie and Sekiemon regularly engaged in discussions that evolved into shaping reuse into a mechanism for social contribution. They recognized that addressing the societal issues through reuse aligns with the global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). By promoting the circulation of unused belongings, the initiative not only aids the environment but also supports social welfare.

Participating Eateries

Several famous food vendors will showcase their popular menu items at the event:

Renowned Appraisers Gather in Roppongi

Notable appraisers include Miura, the chairman of the Toriana Group, and Tomo Happy, a former world champion trading card player and founder of Cardon.

Visitors will have the rare opportunity to assess the true value of their unwanted items while experiencing the appeal of reuse firsthand. This initiative significantly contributes to raising social awareness regarding reuse and its benefits.

Event Features

1. Donation Model: Attendees can have their items appraised for free, with part of the proceeds from sales or auctions donated to charity.
2. Interactive Experience: Participants can choose whether to sell items for charity or take them back if unsatisfied with the appraisal.
3. Entertainment Elements: The event will feature real-time donation amounts displayed, increasing engagement among attendees.
4. Finale Charity Auction: At the event's conclusion, attendees will have the chance to bid on items that were appraised or donated, promoting the concept of reuse in an engaging way.

A Call for Action

Horie believes in transforming the familiar act of selling into a means of bettering society. By creating a charity format that encourages broad participation, this initiative aims to underscore the fundamental value of collective action.

The Japanese Child Support Association highlights the importance of ongoing support for children in vulnerable situations. This project sets a transformative model for societal responsibility in addressing children's needs and ensuring their bright futures.

Through this collaboration, Kaitori Maxus aims to create a culture of returning values to society through hidden assets within the reuse market. The event, an expression of social contribution, encourages widespread participation in favor of children's futures. Join us in fostering a new era of social responsibility through reuse efforts at this exciting event!
