Sekura Cabins Launches a New Sustainable Factory in Romania to Enhance Modular Production in Europe

Sekura Cabins Expands Manufacturing with New Romanian Facility

In a significant leap towards sustainable manufacturing, Sekura Cabins Group, a prominent name in the modular cabin industry for off-highway vehicles, has inaugurated a cutting-edge factory in Brașov, Romania. This strategic development represents not just an expansion of the company's production capacity but also its commitment to innovation in sustainability.

A Sustainable Future

With over 65 years of experience stemming from its base in Denmark, Sekura Cabins is renowned for designing and producing modular cabins that are both functional and environmentally friendly. The new Romanian facility spans approximately 2,000 square meters and aims to create 50 new jobs by the end of 2026. This new site marks a pivotal move for Sekura as it is the first of its kind outside Denmark, reflecting a robust commitment to enhancing the European supply chain for off-highway vehicles.

CEO Michiel Som emphasized the factory's role in fulfilling a strategic plan to reinforce supply chains in Europe while advocating for safety, sustainability, and long-term customer value. "This facility not only ramps up our production capabilities but also solidifies our position as a trusted partner for OEM clients in a rapidly evolving market,” Som stated.

Advanced Production Standards

The facility is equipped with state-of-the-art production lines that prioritize:
  • - Safety and compliance: All cabins are engineered to meet stringent EU regulations.
  • - Sustainable manufacturing: Utilization of energy-efficient systems and recyclable materials.
  • - Scalable output: This allows for quicker delivery in response to increasing market demands in sectors like agriculture, forestry, construction, and logistics.

The total investment in this new facility amounts to EUR 1.8 million, following a previous EUR 20 million investment for a facility in Randers, Denmark. This is part of Sekura’s broader turnaround strategy led by its dynamic management team.

Transitioning in Production

In the initial phases, the Romanian factory will focus on manufacturing sheet metal components and welded sub-assemblies, intending to later expand into producing tube components and smaller cabin frames. The establishment is situated in a BREEAM Outstanding certified facility, which highlights its adherence to the highest standards of environmentally friendly construction as outlined by the EU Taxonomy.

Serving European Markets

With the opening of two sustainable factories in Denmark and now Romania, Sekura Cabins is poised to meet the growing market demands across Europe, targeting countries such as Germany, Denmark, Finland, Sweden, and the Netherlands. This expansion allows Sekura to continue offering innovative, scalable cabin solutions tailored for a range of industries, including agriculture, forestry, mining, construction, and logistics.
