Japan Knowledge Space Inc. Recognized as a 'Vegetable Supporter' by the Ministry of Agriculture
Japan Knowledge Space Inc. has proudly announced its certification as a 'Vegetable Supporter' by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan. This certification aligns with the ministry's nationwide initiative, 'Let's Eat Vegetables Project,' aimed at enhancing public health and boosting vegetable consumption across the country.
Background and Purpose of 'Vegetable Supporter' Certification
The importance of adequate vegetable consumption cannot be overstated, yet the average Japanese remains below the government's recommended intake of 350 grams per day. Additionally, the issue of food loss due to 'off-spec' vegetables that are perfectly edible but rejected during distribution presents a significant challenge in the agricultural industry.
In response to these pressing issues, Japan Knowledge Space has initiated a welfare program that purchases over 500 kilograms of these off-spec vegetables monthly from related businesses, directly shipping them to the homes of all employees. This program aims to achieve two critical objectives:
1.
Improving Employee Vegetable Intake and Health
By having a large supply of vegetables delivered to their homes, employees and their families naturally increase the frequency of vegetable consumption, thus fostering healthier eating habits.
2.
Contributing to Food Loss Reduction
Actively consuming off-spec vegetables not only supports producers but also aids in mitigating food loss, addressing a significant societal concern.

With this certification as a 'Vegetable Supporter,' we aim to share our successful initiatives more broadly, raising societal awareness towards increasing vegetable consumption and promoting sustainable dietary practices.
Message from the Representative
"We are greatly honored to have been recognized as a 'Vegetable Supporter' by the Ministry of Agriculture. Our efforts utilizing off-spec vegetables not only enhance employee health but also directly address the societal issue of food loss. Through this initiative, we wish to showcase how the act of 'eating' vegetables can contribute to social good. Moving forward, we aspire to deepen our collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture to develop even more effective and enjoyable vegetable consumption promotions."
