Experience Global Cultures This Summer with 'One Day of Wonder!'
This summer, Tokyo is set to give children a unique opportunity to engage with a multitude of cultures from around the world through the exciting event known as 'One Day of Wonder!'. This initiative is designed to help children envision a future where they can thrive on the global stage by cultivating their international awareness.
Event Overview
Held at
TOKYO GLOBAL GATEWAY, the program offers an immersive experience where kids can navigate various booths, allowing them to explore different nations and regions' cultures within a single day. Notably, there are no prerequisites regarding English proficiency, inviting all children interested in global cultures to participate. Throughout the event, participants will have opportunities to engage with native English speakers, participate in interactive activities, and draw comparisons with Japanese life and culture.
What is TOKYO GLOBAL GATEWAY?
TOKYO GLOBAL GATEWAY is a pioneering educational space established in partnership with the Tokyo Metropolitan Board of Education and Tokyo Global Gateway Co., Ltd. It functions as an experiential language learning facility where students can take part in practical English learning outside the classroom. Designed to transport visitors into an overseas-like environment, it allows for a thorough exploration of global experiences.
Target Participants
The program is specifically aimed at elementary school students from 3rd to 6th grade and junior high school students. It is mandatory for elementary students to be accompanied by a parent or guardian, while the presence of a parent is optional for junior high students. Only one accompanying parent is permitted per participating child.
Event Schedule and Locations
The event will be held at two venues, both featuring a series of cultural activities:

Oume Venue - TOKYO GLOBAL GATEWAY, Koto City, Tokyo
- Date: July 26, 2025, from 10 AM to 4 PM
- Additional date: August 10, 2025

Tachikawa Venue - TOKYO GLOBAL GATEWAY, Tachikawa City, Tokyo
- Date: August 2, 2025, from 10 AM to 4 PM
- Additional date: August 17, 2025
The capacity for each event is as follows:
- Elementary students: 104 participants
- Junior high students: 52 participants
- Elementary students: 44 participants
- Junior high students: 22 participants

Registration Period
Applications will be accepted from June 5, 2025, to June 28, 2025. If the number of applicants exceeds the limit, a lottery will be conducted, and the results will be notified via email in early July.
Participation Fee
Participation in the program is completely
free of charge.
Additional Information
Participants are welcome to enter and exit the venue freely during program hours, although the last entry will be at 3 PM. Dedicated spaces for breaks and lunch will be available, but no lunch will be provided. There will also be childcare services onsite, available upon prior application for children aged 6 months to preschool level. The event may be documented, so attendees might appear in photos/videos used for promotional purposes.
