Beko's 2025 Integrated Report: A Commitment to Sustainability
In its newly published 2025 Integrated Report, Beko demonstrates substantial progress in financial, environmental, and social performance. For the third consecutive year, Beko has secured its position as one of TIME Magazine's World's Most Sustainable Companies, ranking number one within its industry. This acknowledgment coincides with the company’s ongoing efforts to commit to net-zero emissions by 2030.
Major Achievements
The report outlines key achievements made in the last year. Notably, Beko has made significant strides in energy efficiency projects across its production sites, saving an impressive amount of 69,562 GJ of energy and preventing the emission of 5,297 tonnes of CO₂e. Additionally, the company has nearly reached its ambitious target for waste recycling at its manufacturing facilities, achieving a remarkable 98.6% rate.
Beko's commitment to renewable energy is equally noteworthy, with its installed capacity growing to 96 MWp, a step up from 90.2 MWp in the previous year. The company is now sourcing 63.5% of its energy from green electricity, moving towards its goal of 100% renewable energy utilization by the year 2030. Furthermore, water efficiency initiatives and rainwater harvesting efforts across its sites have led to a total water saving of 219,114 cubic meters.
Comprehensive Manufacturing Transformation
A noticeable factor in Beko's sustainable success is the transformation of its manufacturing approach. The esteemed World Economic Forum has recognized three of Beko’s manufacturing facilities within its Global Lighthouse Network, with the Ulmi plant earning special distinction as a Sustainability Lighthouse. The innovative practices established at Ulmi are being applied throughout Beko's production facilities.
Currently, Beko thrives with 13 smart factories globally. These cutting-edge facilities utilize advanced technology including artificial intelligence, machine learning, and robotics, with plans to expand to 17 smart factories by 2026. Beko aims not only for operational excellence but also for a reduced environmental impact through these transformative initiatives.
Emphasizing a Circular Economy
Beko is a strong proponent of the circular economy model, as shown by its refurbishment centers which successfully reintroduced over 148,000 appliances into the market in 2025. Since 2014, the company has recycled approximately 1.98 million WEEE units and integrated 31,665 tonnes of recycled plastics into its products in 2025 alone. Impressively, low-carbon products constituted 72.6% of Beko's total turnover last year, underlining both consumer demand and the company’s focus on sustainable product offerings.
A Holistic Approach to Sustainability
Can Dinçer, CEO of Beko, emphasized that being recognized by TIME year after year underscores the importance of integrating sustainability into every aspect of the business. He stated, “Our factories undergo a twin transformation where we encounter both decarbonization and digitalization. That progress is deliberate and measurable, and our Integrated Report sets out exactly how.”
Beko’s business model exemplifies a dedication to sustainability that permeates its operations, supply chains, and product lines. Additionally, the company has released its second sustainability report aligned with Türkiye Sustainability Reporting Standards (TSRS), which provides detailed insights into climate-related risks and opportunities the company faces.
